I'll be in a race on iRacing broadcasted live on youtube, come and watch if you like. I'll be in the #099 Zach Knowles entry.
Cool, another iRacer! I snagged a win last night in WK13 Carb Cup after accidentally chopping across the nose of the 48. (imported from here) Then my friend in the 25 decided to nail me after the checkered so I had to do a blown engine burnout. (imported from here)
Always good to see other iRacers, Although I don't really like super speedways. I mainly just drive SS/LM/SLM/SK's/Sprints on short track ovals. Like my late model, that I spent almost 9 hours on. (imported from here)
Good lord that's an awesome LM. I'm actually planning on running the SK's and C Fixed this season. Maybe even a race or 2 in Road with the Skips and SRFs! Here's my truck scheme I'm running for S4. (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here)
I totally agree. I am fine with paying for games once. But i am not fine with paying for them on a subscription, i like to play lots of different games therefore i may only put a few hours into some of my favorites in some months. So the value for money prospect doesn't work at all. £32 per year is a lot of money when i can make a one off payment for games like assetto corsa and Dirt Rally for less.
I feel like subscriptions, if they're yearly and aren't too much (let's say £30 and below) are perfectly fine, because by the time another year rolls around and the payment is taken, I've already earned way more money than that.
im fairly certain it isnt... So it is about £32 a year at its current half price offer. Even if looking at it now that is the worst offer they do outside of the one month price. Through steam it is currently £55 a year. - - - Updated - - - Well sure i guess. But given the choice of buying a brand new AAA game each year and paying the same for 1 game over multiple years i would take the multiple games. Take ETS2 for example, i have had that game for quite a long time now, but i dont play it every month some months i may put 20 hours into it others i may put 0 hours into it. ETS2 is actually my most played game on steam at 125 hours, i payed £15 for it if i add in the cost of the going east expansion i bought too. That would only get me 6 months of iracing while it is on sale. Not only that but i would feel pressured into playing it because i would need to get my moneys worth out of the subscription which isn't something i really want either. Not only that but when you stop paying you loose access to the game. That is something that i really dont like the idea of especially with games. On the other hand i am fine with the model that games like cities skylines and ETS2 are using where they continue to support the base game while also providing dlc for people to buy if they are interested in the extra content. I would even go as far as to say i would take RaceRooms micro transaction based system over the subscription system that iracing offers. At least then i only have to pay if i want something new and everything that i have already purchased is available to me at any time i like.
Spent almost $50 on the Boeing B727-100/200Adv/F series for X-Plane 10 -- certainly worth every penny. After a $10 livery pack and some custom scenery, it's the 1980's all over again. Seriously though, I've logged several hours in this thing already, and I've only had it for a couple days. JT8D power!! KGEG FL350 KSEA
