Nice. They look great! I've been quite impressed with your progress on the RV. It is amazing. Great work!
yes. that is what it is based on! welcome to the forums, this project has been in the works for quite some time and everyone is all hyped up about it lol
Quixel DDO and NDO is a seriously impressive bit of kit. Took me just a few minutes to turn a pristine SSP2 body into a weathered mess... Not that it can corrode like this though! (imported from here) Thanks to Mythbuster for unintentionally showing me what's possible in this software
Some of you who came from Rigs of Rods may remember me. I used to make ugly imaginary vehicles. Well, I still do, except now they're round xD ...well, not really, but they're round-ish and have good shading lmao. I'm posting this for a few reasons, I wanna hear opinions before I go any further (so I'm still in time to correct my design) and I'm currently entering my last year of school. What does this mean? Well, I suck at Jbeaming, I know the basics but I will no longer have enough time to learn enough or even start doing anything. So here's what's happening: IF, by any chance, you wanna get into this project for any reason, contact me and we'll work together. Don't worry about 3D modeling, I'm gonna do the frame and interior and every mechanical piece. And I'll do the engine tuning and even help with Jbeaming even if I only know the basics. I just cannot do a bug-free well deforming file. Onto my actual post. I started doing this as a project to show in a one-day modeling class at a college (we only modeled a freaking wrench ._.) but got too carried away. YES, I do know my headlights are ugly as hell and they're being changed, so please don't make notices on that xD I'd like to thank Mythbuster, who not only taught me a lot and was very suportive, but was also kind enough to quickly do a render (which I'm unable to do yet) to check if my shading was a'ight, here was the result: After this, my friend Mahlon slapped some textures and put some of his own tires on my rims and did some more complete renders. So yeah, I'd like to hear some thoughts before I move on and in-case someone is interested in the underlined subject above, hit me up. I'm personally happy with the result so far P.S.: If this goes ahead I'm making ext. and crew cab versions, bed tops, SUV version, lifted, a big one like Ford F-650s and stuff, and possibly a few more. This is why I decided to be a pick-up, because it's basically universal and you can do a LOT of stuff to it. So yeah, it should be interesting
The front bugs me a bit, looks slightly like a sad pig Besides editing the headlights a bit (as you said) maybe try to lower the top end of the grille a bit, and with it the whole higher part of the hood. And jbeam, I'd like to but I have literally no knowledge about this...
I dont really think the hood is the problem here, I think its just the headlights, and maybe the grille should be a little wider. Dodge Rams also have this kind of front shape
Yeah, widening the grill would also work I didn't think the hood is the problem either, just that the grille is too high for the wideness. So we thought the same just with different solutions (I think yours is better though).
Yo, thank you two for the comments, I love criticism :3 So uhm... this is a quite hard decision. If I make it wider, the hood won't funnel enough til the front end and it'll look odd. If I make it lower, it won't have the pronounciation I want :/ Plus, if I make it wider I'll have no room for headlights My mate suggested this, but I'm having a hard time making it look from this truck's era. It's supposed to be somewhere around 1999-2003.
How about making headlights a bit higher and thinner than they are now? EDITk, it doesn't look that good. But two ideas before are actually nice. PS: good job
