^ Humor for the win. I moved my gear into a new case. Haven't folded in awhile. Were we supposed to crunch numbers hard or do something like that this weekend specifically?
Not really. I've been down with a combo issue of heat and dying GPU, but I may get it figured out soonish.
I did my first folding today. Btw, is there any way to enable folding for the GPU but not to use 100%? Because If i let the GPU fold, even the browser laggs.
Fold on medium or less, maybe right click and tell the gpu to fold all for itself on medium or less, checkout the more top end forums for folding and overclocking. linustechtips does a lot of folding, they could have more answers for you. I am not professional at this.
Yup, I set it to that, but is rather rare that I don't use the computer (it is in screensaver mode) and it says that needs 10 day to complete the folding, and only have 14 days for it, so it is impossible that it will be able to complete it.
I've kind of given up on trying to get folding to work. I've spent countless hours fiddling with it to get it to run properly and when I do get it running it always seems to crap out on me after a week of folding. It's just not worth the effort at this point. Plus I'll be heading to University soon and really don't need a space heater in my tiny dorm room. I wish I could still fold, but it's not really feasible at this juncture.
It looks kinda like it. :/ Personally my 280x just won't fold. Something is wrong with it and gigabyte won't fix it. @noah1897 congrats on college!
So I'm attempting this whole folding thing again. It seems like the previous issue I had has been fixed. I am currently getting an estimated 150k ppd. I'll try and keep this running as long as I can to see what happens.
So far, so good. I went home over the weekend and left my computer folding back in my dorm. Even though the estimated ppd is about 150k ppd the real ppd is about 180k ppd which I'm really happy about. I also found out that Purdue University (where I go to school), actually has double the super-computing capacity of Stanford. Too bad Purdue doesn't use some of that power for their own folding team. Edit: You're getting passed Bubble Second place is going to be mine again.
I would so not attempt this on my PC XD, even tho its not a slouch and has a fair bit of power, the power going to it, is slacking. I'm running my rig with only 400w, I'm sure if I folded with that PSU, it'll explode! now thats not good
It's that time of the year again; I need a space heater for my room. I'll be folding quite a bit for the next 6 months.
yay. i have a dual quadcore server running f@h and a amd 6 core with a gtx 660. I joined your team as narwhal2 edit. i now have added 2 dual cores(amd and intel something) as well as my gaming laptop and my gaming desktop when im not one
