^Lol. Anyways, got the slave cylinder installed 2 days ago. Buuut it turns out that the slave wasn't broken, it was the clutch master cylinder that had stopped working. This time I was lucky though. I have an acquaintance that knows a guy that had a brand new original Mercedes clutch master cylinder for me! So now I have brand new clutch hydraulics Now I gotta fix the hunting idle when the car is warm. It's probably the idle air control valve or the throttle position sensor. Oh, and another thing. The clutch master cylinder has broken AGAIN on the Audi. We replaced that damn thing not even 5 months ago.
Dropped my fuel tank, new fuel pump should be here today. Started to remove the botched paint job from my door. Lacquer thinner does a great job, also kills your hands. (imported from here)
New fuel pump is in, running great. Working on fixing the drivers door paint, interior panel, and window. Basically getting it ready to sell.
Saturday and Sunday I was working on the transmission replacing a few seals. Dropped the pan and replaced the gear selector shaft seal and the pan gasket. Wasn't too difficult and was a neat experience. Never really messed with transmissions before. I hate rolling around on the ground dodging ATF drips though. I expected to still have a small leak, but a day later the pan is still dry and shiny and there isn't a drip under the car. Probably still leaks a little though. After I threw it back together I took it on a test drive to make sure I didn't mess anything up and drove the absolute piss out of it. When I got back it was idling low. Whatever lol. I didn't have school today so I took both front seats out and removed the bottom cushion covers to wash them. Originally planned to do the back rest covers as well, but the side airbags are sewn to them and I don't mess with airbags. They aren't dirty anyway. They're in the laundry right now. Edit- the machine tore the little layer of foam inside the cover apart and made a huge mess of it. I did exactly what everyone else on CVN does.
I just finished deep cleaning and resealing my top with 303, and it looks fantastic. I'm assuming it still had the factory sealer, which is close to thirteen years old. I'm really glad to see that it repels water now, and the cleaner released quite a lot of dirt that was previously in the fabric.
My car got turned into a junkyard ornament today. Someone couldn't wait 2 seconds for me to pass so they tried to cut me off and make their turn, turns out they didn't have enough time. No insurance or license plates either so its a complete loss for me. 347stroker with a 12:1 compression ratio, 5,0x heads, f303 cam, msd 6al ignition box, and a summit street n strip distributor.
Picked up these wheels for a very good price. They all have Nokian tires on them and they have been used for approx. 2 months. Only downside is that I need to buy longer bolts... (this is the model of the rims, not actual picture)
Wow that's a shame. Looks like that car hauled a** before Mr. Impatient decided to remodel the front end. OT: Thought I ruined my engine last week, after noticing a burning smell coming from the car I looked down at the gauges and the oil pressure gauge was showing 90+psi! I came to stop and shut off the engine and smoke started pouring out from under the hood. Upon inspection I noticed a big crack in the oil pressure sending unit that was leaking oil onto the hot engine/exhaust manifold causing the smell and smoke. I put a new sending unit on and now the gauge is reading normal pressure. I also adjusted the steering box.
Took the A4 in for a comprehensive inspection about a week ago. A lot of the stuff is the usual money grabbing crap (I did timing and pumps last year, $308 to clear a fault code...), but in all, it's a pretty good indication of my car's health. I know exactly what needs fixing now. (imported from here)
I guess there is a reason why old luxury cars are so cheap as they cost an arm and a leg to fix when they age.
