Hello BeamNG community, and welcome to the Race Car Mod Build Off! Recently, I've noticed that there is a disturbing lack of modding contests here. So, I decided to try to mend that problem with this contest. (I did start one about a week ago, but it was very badly made. I had Nadeox1 delete it, so it won't clutter up the archives.)
Anyway, the object of this contest is to build a race car mod and at least get it into Beta within the specified time frame. Here are some race cars you could build: Formula Racers, Touring Cars, GT1, GT2, & GT3 Sports Cars, Le Mans Prototypes, V8 Supercars (Aussie Racing League), and Nascar Stock Cars. However, you may make any race car you like; those were only some suggestions. You may do this on your own, or team up with a second user and work together. If you would like to have a team of more than two, please ask me first.

Rules:
1. You may either copy a real life race car, or modify an existing official car. (for example, a Hirochi Sunburst touring car) MAKE SURE YOU ASK GABESTER FIRST!
2. If you are already working on a race car mod at the present, (like Slayersen with his Bolide Racer) you may enter it into the contest.
3. There is also the option to modify an existing mod, however, you must have written permission from the original mod's creator. Failure to comply with this will result in disqualification.
4. No cheating/stealing content - this is grounds for disqualification.
5. Drop a link to your development thread when you enter.
6. You may team up with a dev (like DrowsySam or Nadeox1 who often make their own mods). HOWEVER, don't drag them into this without their consent; I'm guessing they're pretty busy at present.
7. Finish your mod! I don't want there to be a bunch of dead WIP threads because of this contest.

What I'll be looking for:
1. Good damage. (No stolen incompatible jbeam)
2. Well put-together exterior.
3. Decent interior. I know that an interior is time consuming to make; it just has to be serviceable.
4. Realistic driving dynamics
5. Custom sound. The 0.4.2.0 update made it easier to have realistic engine sounds; take advantage of this!

P.S. This is the last iteration of this contest; I won't be making any substantial changes to the rules, if any. Take it or leave it as it is.

 

Has to be scratch made or... ?

Because, you know...

 

It seems that so far, there has been no support for these things, even though you have posted many of them. So, what makes you think that people will want to do this one. It seems like this is pretty much a mod request in having one kind of mod people can make.

First of all, I haven't made many of them. I had one other thread, which I had Nadeox1 delete. And second, this isn't a mod request. After I made my first thread, Lt. Smell My gave me a few links to contests on the Rigs of Rods forums. That gave me an idea of how to run a contest; having only one category, or car. It wouldn't be a good idea to have a completely open contest.

Yes it can. This might turn out rather interesting...

 

I still say without any real reward its still much to ask but yet its caught my attention to join as-well which in turn contradicts what I previously stated. I think a panel of judges would be better suited to do the judging. Also, have you made anything for beam? And no offense but what makes you qualified to judge the contest besides the obvious that you started it. What exactly are you looking for, can you do in depth of what exactly it is that your looking for?

 

I think this contest would be better if it wasn't a specific type of race car. Let the creator or team decide on the race car type and their maybe a decent contest.

In the rigs of rods modding contests, I usually didn't see any prizes; they were just considered fun community events (afaik). Check my opening post to see what I'm looking for.

If there are a lot of entries, I will choose my favorites, then put them up to a community poll. However, if there aren't that many, I'll just put them all in a poll.

 

That won't work as good as you expect. Actually, I see no problem in making all the entries in the poll. There are many people with many different tastes. Let the community decide. Although you can make an elimination, so put every entry into the poll, and let us choose the entries that would go to the next step of contest.

No but seriously...I am in if rally cars are allowed...I need some kind of motivation to start a new project and I alaways wanted to make a rally car

Yeah, I still might do that. However, you can only have 10 options in a poll. So if there are more than 10 entries, I'll have to eliminate some.

Yes, rally cars are allowed. Heck, it would be fine if you resurrected your mustang mod and had a race trim line.
