go to options videosettings (how you change details and stuff) make it full screen and disable V-Sync
check FPS with physics paused and resumed

It is pretty much impossible to get good performance out of an emulated device (running Windows on Mac), even if you have a good computer. If you are using VMWare Fusion or Parallels, or something similar, try using Boot Camp (built in virtualization software), so then it boots to Windows, and only has to run one OS at a time. If you are looking for good performance, just build a PC.

 

I think he's bootcamped already, which is not virtualisation, it is genuine native running windows, bootcamp just coerces the apple bios to run in a PC compatible mode.

VMWare and Parallels are virtualisation not true emulation, but yes there is a massive impact still.

 

Looking at http://www.notebookcheck.com/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-675MX.82566.0.html we see that this GPU struggles to keep +40fps with anything around 1920x1080 in demanding games.
And the Thread Starter even tries to run 2560x1440. I'd say the GPU just isn't fast enough.

 

That can be the issue indeed. The GT750M in my old laptop could run the game in 1080p60 but did occasionally stutter in heavy maps.

 

Tbh I would 3rd that, it is not a powerful GPU and at that resolution 30fps really does seem correct.
