Done. The discussions/forums division is a bit confusing, but I'm sure both could be useful simultaneously as more and more adapt to the new layout. Also, I'm not sure sorting groups alphabetically should be the default sort... Perhaps most recently updated?
I'm really liking it, and it looks like a good start for a mod repository. It even tracks updates and everything. Though I'm mostly happy that I'll finally be able to offer all three derby scenarios as a single download
also one awesome thing about the new forums is that you can now delete posts, witch was something that was deeply needed on the old forums and if awesome if you get ninja´d or something happens
You were able to delete posts on the old forum. Edit post gave you the option to delete, though moderators and admins are still able to unhide it for themselves. Should be the same case here.
as we are about permissions: now possible to upload attachments to conversations (think of attachments in PMs) removed avatar file size limit restricted signatures a bit more
i never found that feature, if i remember you had to report the post with a message saying like "delete this", but i may be wrong
Nice work. While you're at it, you should fix my signature and remove the option to report your own post.
It would be amazing to have a BeamNG app that had all the forums. You could have push notifications and all the goodies.
I prefer no character limit. I don't have to type rubbish and hide it in a different colour when I'm responding to somebody with a quote.
User thumbnails for added content instead of a picture of the actual mod is fairly dull, condensed boxes on the forum main page instead of a simple clean list seems also two steps backwards visually, grey faded text, less functions for profile settings, the floating top bar. Has IRC been dropped?. Some of the new terminology seems to be a little juvenile, which is weirdly appropriate for members under the age of 13, those of whom are banned. For example "Super Moderator", do they have a cape, or wear their underpants over their trousers?. "Friends" to "people you follow" or blocked members to "people you ignore". I realize change is inevitable but maybe you could have softened the blow by at least telling your paid up customers this was your intention, It strongly appears however, that you did foresee some negative feedback which is probably why the changes were made overnight without any notification whatsoever. "Negative feedback doesn't help anyone" well neither does the attitude of "This is what you get, now deal with it!" A forum is all about communication and making that communication easier and more pleasant for the people who use it. Changes made overnight without any notification serve to destroy that fundamental foundation. Sure the pages load faster, great! The visual aspect is far too "super fantastic nuevo" and strikingly different for you to not have thought even at the back of your mind that some people would find it controversial. It's appearance from the previously visually friendly and far easier to navigate forum comes across as a tech hipster fad fashion. Lacking any sense of unique style or visual appeal will end up being "so five minutes ago" as so many other forums are resorting to this style. I couldn't care less about new emoticons. It's the faded text, crowded lack of organization and many other aspects of how it strives to look unappealing. Some of the added functionality and speed is nice, but it has come at a greater cost, lack of confidence from your customers out of a sense of betrayal about not being informed. New isn't always better especially when change is presented as an ultimatum, don't be surprised if your users take it badly and respond accordingly in future. Change is not always for the best, for all parties concerned.
