    No one knows yet, though people are guessing it's some sort of moab/desert type map.

    I've been working on a little tool yesterday that normalizes all scaling values in jbeam files.
    Once they are baked in we have much more relation to the real world in terms of the spring/damp/etc numbers, so it's easier to tweak things.

    I was going to use it (it looks great) but the current previews aren't backwards or forwards compatible so it's built in the old stable version using curves with custom profiles.

    Working on a destroyed bridge to prevent driving off the edge of the world:

    Awesome bridge! Is there gonna be an invisible wall to repel people that jump over that with a placed ramp? obviously won't be that hard.

    Also, is there gonna be any major incompatibility in the new update, or is the map gonna be plug and play into older versions? (0.4.0.6 speaking)

    I'm pretty sure I won't place walls; if you really want to drive off the edge of the map then I suppose you will. The 42m gap and almost 50m drop should deter most though. This is mainly so that if you're just driving around you don't find the edge of the map.

    Man, if only BeamNG had a decal/dirt/scratch system. Seeing a wrecked car all shiny and clean just somehow doesn't feel all that realistic.

    Together with Dummies N/B tool, equalised scaling values will be great for moving parts from one vehicle to another. I remember adjusting all the small trailer beam values so it could be used with the Moonhawk... Will this tool be available for the public as well? :)

    Slow down.
    There has never been a Dynamic Dirt Overlay thing, nor in T3D and in CE. What you saw was a simple texture that got overlayed to the car textures. I believe you can still enable those texture on vehicle that have it (GM, D15,Covet) by simply removing the // from a line in the material.cs.

    IIRC, they said that the dirt was placed as a "filler" since CryEngine didn't have reflections. When the switch to T3D happened, dirt wasn't necessary.

    I don't see any reason to not make it public if it does indeed work properly in all cases.
    Initial results are good, but the jbeam format has a lot more potential complexity than one usually sees in action.
