Because he thinks your grammar sucks, which when you have to be told that by a non native speaker probably means your grammar sucks.

So French is your native language? Being Canadian doesn't preclude English being your native language... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_language

And what's up with the.. North America thing? It's reasonably common to hear a 'murican insist on "Made in the USA" but... how does your Canadian national pride translate into a need for a North American manufactured car? Are you OK with one of the Toyotas, Hondas, or Volkswagens made in the United States or are you only interested in the big three?

Just buy a cheap run around until you're good at driving, my first car was a Peugeot 106 and I crashed it in to a bus well I mean I went up the side of the bus from the back to the front on 2 wheels o_O everyone looking at me like what the heck is going on then I drove off, after I fixed that a week later someone crashed into the side of me totalling it, I'm not saying you'll crash it but best to use a banger then save up for something nice when you have a lot more driving experience.

now on a more serious note

    a mk3 volkswagen
doesn't matter if Golf, Jetta, Passat or what. Nothing can go wrong with these. They have all the perks and chicks dig them.

I'd say buy a car from states that hardly ever get shit weather and drive her back, but idk if he's up for the first trip in his first car to be hundreds, maybe thousands of miles. And it also wouldn't be fun to go so far to test it out, unless there's some other way to confirm its condition.
