There may not be progress on here for a little while. When what is being done is finished (or even in a "kinda working state") you will see why...
So here is the reason why you've all been left eagerly waiting for progress updates. I am remodeling the entire car from the outside in, the front, windsheild, side body, and rear side bodywork have all been remodeled. The front and sides are the farthest along, the doors are a tad unfinished, the middle/ hood like part is in a state of change, the windscreen is going to see many changes so don't take this as the final model, the roof is barely even started let along finished, and last but not least the rear engine cover has yet to be started. The chassis hasn't been touched yet. Notice: The front and overall car isn't made to look like the 787B the car is not 100% based upon the 787B. here is the respective list top to bottom of the cars origins of real life Group C inspiration. Mazda 787B Lamborgini Countach QVX Mercedes Benz C7/C9 Nissan R89C/R91C '88 Jaguar XJR-9/ '90 XJR-12 '91-'92 Jagur XJR-14 And from BeamNG, the Bolide with the least inspiration. If you need more clarification as to how these cars have inspired or impacted the car let me know. The car's name has also been renamed to the "Civetta Bolide GX91C Race Car". Yes that is right, I went back to the drawing board now that I got the car to the most functional it's been yet in terms of the suspension I thought why not just do the mod justice. Oh and textures are not done either.
You do understand I make mods for my own joy, not for others, and that the car it's self isn't even close to being a final product. To top it off you always require someone ask you to clarify what it is you are criticizing. Is it too narrow, short, or stubby? One moment please.
With the rounded front end it doesn't fit in as well, if the nose was a bit flatter or lesser of an angle it would look more natural. The windscreen also seems to extend farther back on the top compared to the sides (at least with the images provided). Do whatever you want, just make it look natural beside other similar vehicles of that era.
I know a ton of the angles are just off, I will return to work on that stuff later, for now I am taking a small break.
ohhh, really? Cough, cough, that was the point of the buildup in excitement you see earlier. That is only 3 days of progress. about 7hrs of modeling max, I do everything kinda slow I know..
Much needed roof/window remodel. I already know the sunvisor is off. Edit: This time I worked on it using an actual blueprint. Edit2: The back wheel covers are not accurate at all and I know that as they are the least correct part of the vehicle overall.
