Right click the Drive icon, and select 'run with graphics processor', :)
it will use it, but it won't look like it in options. :)

Ok, so you don't have an onboard graphics card, so it is using your good card, it just doesn't say it is, that happens to alot of people, it is a known bug, :)

ok go to your pc search and search CCC (should bring up "catalyst control center" if not search that, thats if you have amd like me. then go on to power - swichable grapgics and then click beam ng to high performance !

just before you do this run beam ng then close and follow the instructions above

let me know if it solves for you

Actually, if he has a intel core i3/i5/i7 then he would have an intel HD4000 as mentioned in the OP as the HD4000 GPU is integrated to the CPU itself, not the motherboard and as a result all core i3/i5/i7 machines have one.

Some of the other intel CPU lines also have one.

I have an i5 processor @ 2.60 GHz and that HD4000 GPU. Are those actually not bad?

This is where I lose what you are saying. I am not sure if it is dedicated. I didn't put it in myself, for this is a school tablet, and if it has to say dedicated on the Device Manager, then it is not. I also tried CPU-Z and it did not even show a Graphics Card.

Well, CPU-Z is more focused on CPUs. Try GPU-Z.

they are not really made for gaming they will run some games on low to mid graphics, but not the high end stuff like battlefield. if got intel i5 at 2.6 with 3.1 turbo boost an intel hd 4000 and a amd 2 gb card . are you managing to run beamng on that as its a taablet ?

HD4000, sorry it sucks. Its an integrated GPU. It isn't as bad as integrated GPU's used to be (thank moores law for that) but they are ultimately intended to allow your computer to display an image and watch some videos etc rather than actually play games. BF3 on all low settings does run at 1366*768 rather playably though, looks like turd as a result. BeamNG also runs with everything low except texture quality (some mods seem to be broken by that and setting it to high doesnt seem to impact performance as much as it perhaps should). Kerbal space program, minecraft, they both run but not excellently (textures all low for KSP, minecraft is alright most of the time on normal render, sometimes even far but certain terrain seems to kill it). Skyrim, I had to delve into config files to do tweaks the game doesnt want you to do before that would work even remotely playably, and its still not smooth.

As for school tablets. There are tablets with x86 processors running windows :p None of them are i5 2.6ghz though unless thats 2.6ghz *in turbo* which is not their standard clock speed, in reality the x86 tablets dont have sufficient cooling to ever get into turbo mode without thermal throttling kicking in first.

I only have Terraria and BeamNG on the tablet, so it isn't filled with crap like my family's desktop (which was good, now there is probably like 30,000 viruses on it lol).
I know it WILL NOT be able to run Battlefield at all, nor was I planning to get it (but I want it for my Xbox :D).But yesh, I am able to run BeamNG without a problem (solid 40-50 FPS).

Filling things with crap impacting performance is an old myth. 30000 viruses on the other hand  That might impact performance a bit (assuming it has 30000 of course, I know it was a made up number and all)

The way that you said that makes it sound like my computer is horrible, and, well, it probably is. But once again, it is better than I have ever gotten on a computer. I have a carrot upstairs, and a probably sick potato in my house, and this tablet is a microwave, so, it may not be much, but its better than a carrot. :|
EDIT: Also, the potato was probably not as good in the first place. I was once told that it was good for Internet and Word. That man was probably right

    Sorry :p
If i makes you feel any better, my laptop is an intel core i3 @ 1.8ghz and too my knowledge doesnt have turbo. Also using the HD4000 graphics. But I got my laptop for university work where the laptops performance is more than enough. I needed office, a web browser and a few software dev tools which I have personally witnessed running on netbooks. Anything else it runs is a bonus. I have a desktop PC for gaming.

I have successfully run terraria (is it bad I only found out about the android port today), minecraft, FTL and prison architect without issue (well, ignoring certain minecraft maps, too many blocks on screen man :D it doesn't like mountains, the end or the nether on far, prefers normal which I am more than happy with considering its an integrated chip).

Skyrim runs with config hacks (settings required in order for it to be able to run arent actually in the in game menu and have to be manually tweaked), dead space and battlefield 3 run on close to minimum settings. BeamNG runs on lowish settings at least.

A lot of older stuff is perfectly fine too.

Integrated graphics are better than they used to be. My old laptop couldnt even play GTA san andreas at the screens native resolution without lagging.

Six, its okay. I know that my computers suck, but I have never used a good pc before. Also, even though I am heavily biased with this, Terraria is awesome. It does involve a LOT of dying in the beginning, but later on, you get some pretty weird and just downright epic weapons. (SDMG; dolphin gun, how is this not awesome)
