It doesn't look like it's going to remove Box5Diesel's stolen nodebeam, though. It's good that they're making their own models, but ever since SM's inception they've used Box5's nodebeam without permission, credit or even mention. That's not mentioning the questionable and lazy physics modifications, either. I'm sorry to any of them who I may offend, but it had to be said.
Yeah, and it is properly crap, doesn't even have split diffs and they vitrified the flexbodies to 'fix' some minor problem, which of course made them roll like bricks
Very true. Who am I to judge but, the folk that sim monsters brought along to ROR, not a lot cared for them, and they often complained about the game rather than playing it. Well I don't wanna see the invasion of them after these are made, not getting mad with the creator or anything, cause I think the trucks are a good idea. Sim monsters people need to stay on their own site.
Its sad to say that I agree with that. I have been a part of the community since the start. It started it out fine with a group of no more than 200 people. But every since the beginning of 2011, it has gone on a steady decline when it comes to a lot of the members in the community.
fuck that the problem's been there since the start "Trucks that understeer backwards, only rev to 3.5 as opposed to 8, four tonnes off weight and behave nothing like real trucks? IT'S A SIM WE'RE RESPECTED AND IF YOU SAY OTHERWISE IT'S A PERMABAN FOR YOU YOU SLACK JAWED LUDDITE." that's the mentality that's been there since day one
Uh no where was box5 beam/node work ever taken credit as anything but his. An update was in the pipeline to replace his completely. The site blew up faster then content could be created, so quality took a back seat to quantity. Physics were inaccurate and were also aimed to be redone as per each trucks layout and suspension alongside the node/beam structures but was put on halt once the rumours came about of BeamNG's alpha release. There is less then 10 actual original content creators on site with 2,700 registered members (and you dont have to make an account to download), the word "overloaded" comes to mind. "They complained about the game rather then playing it" care to elaborate on that? Because I do not recall anything. And trust me you will not see an invasion of the kiddies from there over here, most of them are young adults with boxstore PC's that can barely play ROR much less this game. The problem with having a mod that is made for a "Motorsports" (and I use that term loosely) such as monster trucks is that it is aimed at the younger demographic. Younger people that have zero patience for anything much less helping with mods for a game. It's funny because Tdev wanted the site to assimilate with the main ROR forum but the Sim Monsters owner chose not to. So please before you make assumptions. atleast get semi informed. broken record Harlow, how many more times must you be told that Sim is just part of the name chosen by the site owner? Or that the people that acted like that are all but gone? stop trying to preach information that is no longer relevant.
The only kiddies you guys will need to be worrying about are the NFS/Burnout 11 year-olds that are on Reddit/YouTube. And most of them are already here, the game has blown up /r/gaming a few times, and multiple popular gaming youtubers have played it. For the mean time Sim-Monsters isn't using BeamNG (afaik) for any leagues or whatever, and won't for a while. As for "Sim Monster people need to stay on their own site," We are already here and... I'm not really seeing much of the complaining you talk about or any of that. The only complaining i see if coming from NFS/Burnout/Forza/whatever players about the suspension. It is through absolutely no fault of the Sim-Monsters community if people decide to make a forum account on BeamNG to talk about a different game. If they are annoying, that's not Sim-Monsters fault either. Mostly i think the more community members, the more respect the people who have made BeamNG get and the more money they make, and the more they can put back into it for the people who bought it and play it. If members who (God forbid) like monster trucks *GASP* want thier opinions heard on maybe if the game has an unkown bug, or something that could be helpful to the development of the game, or even content to share with the full BeamNG community, why should they just stay on their own site? Most of the "kids" on S-M are too busy complaining about how BeamNG is paid because they are too lazy to buy it to even care about leaving. I have no clue where the community picked up as much slack as it did to where we shouldn't be allowed to browse two different sites.
I hope my comment did not come across as disrespectful Tdev, I understand why the olive branch was extended to us. I was trying to pass along some factual information on the subject of our community to people that seem to be lead by blind disdain. I understand that Sim Monster community deserves some heat for poor choices, hindsight is always 20/20 in that regard. We are trying to right our ship back on course to what was the original goal from the sites birth.
wow that would be awesome to have a monster truck in the game. if only ur pc could handle having a row of cars lined up and smashing through them hehe that would be sweet
