I love to drive at night but original headlights are so bad that I can only see trees and little road. Is it possible to get better and more realistic lights?

    Original:
I think I can only see about 50 meters forward with high beams.

    Low beams are useless:

This kind of lights would be perfect:

lights don't even work for me because I use lowest quality everything to get a playable FPS on some maps.

Best idea ever!! This is what I've wanted for a long time, hope they add it. We need to keep asking them to add it!

Good to hear I'm not the only one who wants this :)

I really like headlights in Euro Truck Simulator 2. Low beams are realistic so they won't blind oncoming traffic and with high beams I can see pretty far. I know ETS2 is a different game but these screenshots show what kind of lights I want for BeamNG.

    Low beams:

    High beams (without extra lights):

The problem is that the whole lighting system in T3D is wrong. Night isn't dark enough, and daytime/the sky isn't bright enough. So there's no way to make anything accurate in both situations. Headlights are already brighter than the sun. We are working on this, though.

Yeah ETS2 is great too, 300+ hours on Steam... IMO that has the most realistic lights any game I've seen! Again I hope they add this.

Maybe angling the lights down would do it, the lights beam maybe round but I managed to edit the light files in GTA 4 just like this video to make it a little more realistic. (This is not my video or mod).

Brighter than the sun?? How is that even possible if the sun illuminates entire terrains and headlights barely illuminate 50 meters?

Headlights have falloff, the sun does not.

Yup I can tell the headlights arent bright enough and night is not dark enough.

This is the darkest point in the day cycle, with a little fog added in and cloud cover, it looks to me like a "overcast" day to me.

This is with high beams on.

I saw this thread again and I really want someone to make a mod on this matter or they improve the lights.
