MODERATOR EDIT - DOWNLOAD IS TEMP. REMOVED, SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE So I went through Terrains,Levels,Maps subforum and went though most of the available maps, downloaded the ones that didn't have the new file structure unzip them and repacked them with the new file structure that's it. The original files/folders that were uploaded with the mod originally remain untouched. DISCLAIMER 1. I did not CREATE any of these modded maps, ALL CREDIT goes to the original authors. 2. Some maps load with 1-2 errors but are still very playable (most are missing materials for buildings/rocks, which could have been missing for the original uploaded zip for the map I don't know.) just keep on pressing "OK" until it loads. 3. Since these are older maps some might not have a " preview picture" in the map selector. 4. some folders/zips could/might be spelled wrong, from the original mod, I repacked them in less than 10 mins I was "rushing" through them. 5. The reason I did this, some people might not want to take the time to repack these older modded maps and they would just sit in the subfourm "abandoned". (Unless the original author updated the mod with the new file structure.) 6. Could you use the unpacked method? I don't know, I tried placing unzipped folders in the new directory for non zipped mods, "C:\Users\[your name]\Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods\unpacked" and it didn't want to show up, that was the whole reason I repacked them. Since this ZIP is 3.72 GB it wasn't possible to upload this zip to the attachments, so I uploaded the zip to mediafire. Enjoy I might update this OP with a preview picture or two of every map, as some people will not download a zip without a preview picture for reassurance. Thanks. Install Open the zip up and drop the desired map in to your "mods" folder.
Since you now how do do this can you also repackage a map called akina pass [ I made it and give you [[ josh ]] permission to do so.]..
This is a great idea! Time to bring back all of the memories of Death Road, from a long time ago before the pre-race update... EDIT: Aaaand... Mediafire still won't let me download anything
Nope, just kept sending me back to the RE-CAPTCHA authorize download thing. But I was dumb. I just tried it in a different browser a minute ago and it worked. Thanks for the response anyway.
I could, it might be a while (overnight) as its 10 PM here, (Ill be uploading the maps one by one over the next few days to the repo also, so we will have several options for downloading or I might even remove the links all together and leave the repo only, we will see.) EDIT Full, zip is uploading to, mega.nz as we speak, ill update the OP as a alternative link when its done.
Looks, like Trynelgren 2.7 was updated by the original author. Its now Trynelgren 3.0, I'll remove 2.7 from my zip ASAP. (Sorry I didn't take notice it was updated to 3.0 version on December 8th)
Nice work, but, speaking for myself, I'd prefered if somebody simply reported my maps not working and I would have updated them. As for the other maps, it's good since most of their author are inactive I think (?). As Thomas said, having them in the repo would be much better (Avoid mine, I will update them probably when I have time), and we could assign them to their original authors (I think it would be the 'more' correct thing to do) and keep you in the credits. Just my thoughts.
I'm pretty strongly against the "map megapack" concept. Packing multiple maps from different sources into one file brings a lot of problems with it: It will collide with any maps which are updated on their own. This will cause unexpected behavior. It's a huge download from the perspective of the BeamNG.drive community. It's approximately size of the actual game? This is a problem for some users. For example, those on metered wireless / satellite internet connections often have only 5GB to 15GB per month. As a follow up to #2, how often will people have to re-download your whole pack? (a) What if you find a problem in your pack and fix it? (b) Or add a single map... (c) Or are forced to remove a single map, due to the problems mentioned in #1!! As Nadeox1 indirectly pointed out, the megapack means that this can't be used to update or form repository entries. Finally, and you probably didn't think about this, but unless you've created proper JSON files for the oldest maps... those authors probably aren't receiving credit at all! (a) You have not credited them here or linked to their threads. (b) They don't credit themselves in-game. As a follow up to Nadeox1's point about notifying authors, please note that you can easily determine how recently a forum member has signed into the forum. Just click on their username to the left of one of their posts. If they've signed in to the forum recently it seems that it might be prudent to drop them a line. I stand by my position of "update first, ask questions later" but only insofar as it applies to what I mentioned in your other thread (eg it does not apply to megapacks). If you'd mentioned it in your original uploading Repacked Older Map Mods? thread some of these things would have been mentioned there! EDIT.... oops, I misunderstood your post! I originally thought that you were providing one big zip to drop in the /mods/ folder. Most of my points still stand although I've had to add two sections of strike-through text to correct for my misunderstanding. I still think that this is a bad way to distribute these files. If you'd already re-zipped these files individually I am at a loss as to why you didn't upload them individually.
REMOVED THE DOWNLOAD (FOR NOW) Let us discuss all this thing before bad thing happens .. I really appreciate what OP did, but I want to find the best solution in releasing these 'updated' levels..
