Nice. Oh, had this idea for a Kei. What do you think about it? (Oh, and: imagine the wheels in the front on both axes, as I wrote it in a language that you don't understand.)
By the way, I am convinced that supercars will be driven by four super strong electric motors, one in each wheel, to provide optimum torque vectoring.
But in that way when one of the engine got broken the car gets serious issues on high speeds (and it would be too heawy)
Well, if one engine gets broken when using only one engine, you can get serious problems too. Even more serious than if you are running four engines, where you could just shut down the engine on the other side and keep going. And it's only a matter of time until Lithium batteries will not weigh that much anymore. A single big V8 or V10 is pretty heavy too. So, in the end it's a nice thing about having a supercar powered by e-motors. Just look at how fast they can spool up their rpms, while a gas engine needs to carry big dead weight.
That's just that thing about the Tesla Model S and X accelerating as fast as freakin' 911 Carrera 4S's.
electic motors really are nice when it's about mechanical reliability, as there are way less moved parts.
Why it wouldn't? Well, you could kinda pretend that fuel is battery charge and custom sounds could easily be done.
the fuel system is an arbitrary number for capacity and an arbitrary number for consumption. It doesnt distinguish between petrol, diesel, LPG, hydrogen or electricity. Its just a capacity of "fuel" and how quickly its drained. Simple. Engines, they're just arbitrary torque curves, whack one in for an electric motor, done. The game does electric vehicles just fine. The game does hydrogen vehicles just fine. The only thing you cant do right now is a hybrid, the game only supports a single engine, you'd need 2 with some extra programming on their interaction with each other for a hybrid. Its already possible to have unique sounds per vehicle (hence the covet having a different sound), just use an electric motor one.
But if we want electric we must change fuel thank coz a furl explosion on an electric car would look weird btw symbol of the fuel gauge has to be changed (just to look better) İ'm out
Except lithium batteries do explode, and the game doesnt define whether fuel explodes. You can jbeam the fuel tank as non explosive very easily. And again, the fuel gauge in the car, just slap a battery texture on it, someone has to make that texture in the first place, no reason why it cant be made as a battery one.... The one in the GUI, nah, that doesnt need changing.
