    Hello BeamNG devs.

May I ask which position you guys use to make the pictures of the cars?
And which program you guys use to edit them to the correct size?
And what the Fiel Of Depth number you guys use?
And if Roll is used, which number is that then?

I want to make pictures of my cars the same way you guys do :)

You don't necessarily need to do it exactly like the devs, why not make up your own style of making pictures for cars?

Cause it other wise looks weird in the vehicle selector, and I personally don't like weird stuff. I prefer nice and sleek, like the pictures of the devs, those are nice and sleek.

As I said you can make up your own nice and sleek style. It's your choice.

Yeah I know, but some how when I resize the pictures to the correct size it looks stretched.

I am pretty confident that the devs are using Dummiesman's DM-Showroom. The rest should be easy with some trial and error.

Yeah, I know that the devs are using DM-Showroom, but what angle is the car relative to the camera? And every time I made a picture and edit it to the correct size 400x192 it looks stretched while the ones from the devs looks like 1920x1080 but then in 400x192, but how they do that?

    1. Are you cropping to the correct aspect ratio? 400x192 is a different (wider) aspect ratio vs 1920x1080. Without letterboxing or pillarboxing anything simply 'resized' to a different aspect ratio will become stretched!
    2. The devs are probably using a "long" lens to avoid unwanted distortion. Try reducing the Field of View. A lot.

And with the field of view thing, reducing the FOV does that mean the view gets closer to the car or goes further away?

Reducing the field of view plays out exactly like it sounds. The field of view gets smaller - so you see less stuff...

Google cropping and aspect ratio separately.

@torsion, Do you know what the aspect ratio is of the BeamNG pictures of the cars?

Sure, without even doing any math you could say that the AR is 400:192. In other words it's approximately 2.08:1, but that's not doing you any good. Stick with 400:192. EDIT: on the subject of useless ways to state AR, we can also reduce the ratio/fraction to more reasonable numbers using the Greatest Common Factor. That gives us 25:12. Like saying ~2.08:1, this is only useful if we want to know what the AR is. We do not want to know what the AR is, we simply want to achieve / maintain it.

Another, simple, way to handle this (maybe easier for you to understand?) is to simply maintain your original aspect ratio and resize the image based on width alone. That would be resizing 1920 to 400. Then should give you a vertical resolution of approximately 225. Now crop down to a vertical res of 192 and voila.

This is how you make a picture fit an aspect ratio, without knowing to much about resolutions and stuff.
The wallpaper i'm editing is made by @defib so all credit for it goes to him.

Dubt. It's just the lighting setup being different.

What does "Dubt" mean? Doubt? Any reason why it won't be released?

    (I) Doubt*

Because it's nothing else than just an empty map for taking pics.
You can just use the DM-Showroom on the forum for that.
