manual not working properly

So I set the transmission mode to manual (no auto clutch) and drove off but shortly after I discovered I the clutch was automatic even after I resetted the vehicle/changed map/checked again if it was auto clutch or nah/changed vehicle ecc... is it normal or did I just find a bug?
I use a G27

 

Unfortunately its normal D: Shifting doesn't need a clutch in this game.

I thought that the clutch must be pressed down while shifting, is that not correct?

 

Manual gearboxes can be shifted with no clutch at all. Very very easy on the upshift actually to just rip the stick out of gear and slam it into another. Downshifts, rip out of gear, rev match, slam in. Not good for it, but it does work.

Its not how you should drive stick, but you can.

 

But you can't just go full throttle and shift without letting off the gas?

 

That would damage the transmission, but engine and transmission damage arent modelled in BeamNG yet. But then you couldnt shift without releasing the gas anyway.
DCT's electronically cut the throttle for you. Manuals, clutch + holding gas is going to have that engine bouncing off the limiter, plus you want the rpms to drop for a smooth shift anyway.

 

I hope the devs will fix this

 

fix what when theres nothing to fix besides the lack of transmission damage which will come in due time anyway

 

yea fix that. I want to be able to damage the transmission and/or not shift when I'm not pressing the clutch
