If I remember correctly, I saw the dev team (I think it was gabester) post the BeamNG teaser video on the ROR forums back in May, 2012. I was like "holy crap! This is going to be amazing!" I am not disappointed!
i found out about it through nerdcubed and downloaded the tech demo then had my mom buy it on my laptop a month later
Oh, I remember now. I had that YBR video for Kerbal Space Program in the list of suggestions beside another video, that video with the north pole rescue mission. Then I looked into the playlist, watched the video with his Squid, two days later I revisited his channel. I saw his BeamNG videos, watched one and then forgot about it. Until some day waaaaaaaay later when he popped up in my list of suggestions after I reminded his Squid video and watched it. Pretty constructed, I know, but I just reminded all that crap.
I discovered BeanNG on Youtube. Forgot who uploaded the video but as soon as I finished watching it - I purchased my copy and registered on the forums.
I don't remember exactly how I found it, I think I googled a vehicle soft body sandbox, and beam's official website came up, and I downloaded the free tech demo. I still feel like that old demo is better than the other one, especially because it fits and runs on a USB drive. (It's actually pretty small!)
Before GTA V came out i (about 2 months before) i was looking for leaked videos of it clicking on just about any recommended videos that i came across and soon enough i came across a video of BeamNG in a VERY early state (this was about June 2013) and instantly wanted to know more.....and here i am.
What do we learn from that? As long as thereare cars in the thumbnail, watch the hell out of youtube!
Someone posted the original Beamng Drive trailer to reddit's /r/gaming, I owned the game the just a few hours after watching it. This is the video that made me fall in love with the game:
I was playing ror for more than 1 year. Then I saw few beamng videos. I was looking on progres of the game and then when first demo was realised I downloaded it played for less than month and bought full game. That time it was so cheap
A Youtube video back in late 2014. I was originally watching a car crash compilation, and one of the suggested videos was called BeamNG.drive "this is a car crash simulator, pretty much" I forgot who posted it, but shortly after a google search for BeamNG.drive I found the website. I downloaded the 0.3 techdemo, and played that for at least 2 or 3 months. My dad got me the early alpha access version on January 19, 2015, I joined the forums the same day. I remember my first day playing it. The only car I drove was the covet, and every time I crashed one, I spawned a new covet. Soon there were like 20 or so covets scattered throughout the industrial map. (game crashed shortly after). For a few months I never posted on the forums, I just installed some mods. Later on, I felt like I knew the community more and so I began posting.
