I think there should be a car in the game with a wankel rotary engine. For those who are looking at that with a :/ look on their faces and laughing at the word wankel, heres a link to the wiki page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wankel_engine) Heres also a list of irl cars that have a wankel rotary: -Mazda Cosmo 110S -Mazda RX-3 -Mazda Repu -Mazda RX-4 -Mazda RX-7 FB, FC and FD -Mazda RX-8 -Mazda RX-Vision -Mazda RX-500 -Mazda Furai -Mazda Cosmo (90's 3-rotor coupe) -Mazda 2-Rotor bus -Mazda 787b -Mazda RX-792P -NSU Something-or-other (as you can tell i'm more educated on the Mazda side of things) -Ford Mustang (a rotary engine was put in a one-off classic mustang as a proof-of-concept) Rotary engines have the perks of being smooth in running, high revving and they spit flame really easily. Early cars had single rotors, most cars were 2-rotor (13b), the 90's Cosmo had 3-rotors (20b) and the racers had 4-rotors (r26b). others have made ones with more rotors for 'shits and giggles'. The engine could be swapped into the 200BX and maybe the Sunburst. Some new cars could be made to accommodate the engines. The Ibishu WR-1 (Single rotor classic sports car), WR-13 (Twin Rotor (13b) sports car), WR-30 (3-rotor luxury coupe) and WR-26 Super (4-rotor supercar). These engines would be good test beds for a exhaust flame script perhaps (mini, controlled, harmless, temporary fires?) If the devs decide to add brap then im happy to come up with some designs for them i cant j-beam or even 3d model (im sorry ive tried but i cant get past basic houses) but im pretty good at drawing so i could sketch some concepts HAIL ROTARY
To this I say to you this "I find your lack of reading the rules disturbing" I would say that this is a breach of requesting licenced content....
You know what, of all the proposed vehicles, the single rotor classics sports car sounds most fun to me, maybe the coupe too. The 2 and 4 rotors are of less interest to me personally, although I know alot of people here on the forums would really dig those and then disagree with my preference for the 1 and 3 rotor suggestions.
Being honest with you all there is one engine that I hold above all else to be one of the great engines, the Mazda 787B R26B 4 Rotor engine, its raspy and it revved to 9,000rpm producing between 630bhp to 700bhp but the engine itself was able to hit 10,000rpm without breaking a sweat and developing about 900bhp...that is insane, something like that will never be seen again at Le Mans and I hate to say that the governing bodies are to blame for banning it! the "governing bodies" have been ruining perfectly good racing series for decades. formula 1. motogp. both top level categories that are complete trash now. it was worth going off topic for that.
Yeah, I might start an MX5/Miata/Roadster sometime in the future. The original 1.6 will hold priority of course, but a 13B isn't off the table.
a roadster would be great. of course im going to bring up swapping out the 1.6 or 1.8 with one of these. they sell a complete kit to bolt it up to the stock trans! http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a26076/honda-swapped-miata/
I find it interesting how you made a snarky remark on not reading the rules, while not actually reading the post, and jumping to conclusions. Actually, I find it more interesting how I see people read very little of what they're shown or just skim, and then not know what they really just saw; and they do that many, many times per day. I work retail... no one reads a dang thing when it comes to shopping. Anyways... I think it'd be interesting to have a Wankel engine in BeamNG; something new, something cool.
I understand I was jumpy, but I could see a 4-Rotor coming or even if some modders got really out of the park a 12-Rotor powered car...yes a 12-Rotor engine DOES exist!
Don't forget the Aerovette! One of my personal favorite rotary cars (even if this was the only one) Heck, even the idea of this thing sounds outrageously awesome. Quad rotor, mid engine, corvette styling, sports car. What's not to love?
You're both right, but the 4 rotor version is newer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Aerovette
Honestly there is only one Rotary engine I would love to see in this game....the Mazda R26B....that engine one Le Mans and deserves in its own right to be in the game on merit alone, but it should be compatiable with I think the Japanese Ibishu brand cars, I wonder if the programming constraints from J-Beam allow for Rotary engines?
I think you mean the R12 that the builders call "Rotary X" as far as I know with just over 1200 BHP, three crankshafts and the size and overall shape of a big block V8? Yup, interesting idea. Also, I think someone should leave @Spaceballs the Username a message if he can model one, as I requested a rotary for the 200BX in his mod some time ago.
rotary from jbeam perspective is absolutely no different neither is wankel. wankel is not the same as rotary... A true rotary engine is an aero engine usually, more akin to a radial. Nothing to do with the Mazda engines
Thanks I was a little unsure but it would be weird seeing the 787B in the game maybe as the "Ibishu 878ML" or something like that ido
I think we should go with more Hirochis, like a '95 Hirochi 878FR (that is a very uncreative name, but it's fine).
Naah its too corny....what would be a good name for an ingame Mazda 787B, I would say Hirorchi is more like Lexus Japan, Ibishu is more Nissan and Honda...we need a new specialist Japanese company that could make the insane 787B...or the ingame version of it!
