    For a second I thought of Sharyo, but that would be dumb because it means "vehicle" in Japanese. I think something after a Japanese name would make sense.
    Kogawa, Shinji, Edogawa, Kenta, ...
    I should look up if those names mean anything though. Just 'cause.

    Don't you dare insult me on not knowing everything that happened in Initial D! NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!
    But one question: What does the ALM stand for? That's where my knowledge ends (and also, how does one measure the size of a rotary/wankel? Total size with or without the rotor?)

    I watched ALL the Initial D stuff, ALM stands for Advanced Le Mans maybe I should have made it sound like ALM4R "Advanced Le Mans 4 Rotor"

    A four rotor? I think two are vastly enough. I mean, if you want it like that, yeah. Won't say one more word against overkill.

    Oh, about Initial D: Should I open a discussion about why I don't like that people are basing a whole stage around the female main charachters' body? I mean, okay, until a certain point it's okay, but I'm out when they integrate a scene in the bathing room just to make all those pesky perverts watch it. That drifted out of control at that point...

    the 787B was a 4 rotor car, it was 2 R13B engines fused together with some satanic rituals to produce 630bhp

    Some ideas

    Apex WR-426B (1991)

    Apex = Apex Seal (whats used in Rotary engines)
    WR = Wankel Rotary
    4 = 4 rotor
    26B = The engine (R26B)

    A full on race car that won the 1991 Hirochi Raceway 24 Hour race

    Apex WR-213B (1992)
    2 = 2 rotor
    13B = The engine

    A two seater JDM sports car in competition with the 200BX

    Apex WR-210A (1967)
    2 = 2 rotor
    10A = The engine

    The original wankel Apex. Designed to show that a rotary engine was possible in a road car.

    Apex WR-412B SC Twin (1981)
    4 = 4 rotor
    12B = The engine
    SC = Supercharged
    Twin = Two engines

    A prototype 4wd twin engined supercar that never saw the light of day. Designed to compete with the Civetta Bolide it was very fast but highly unreliable.

    What about the company name being "Mizuku" or something idk so like the "Mizuku Apex WR-426B"

    If you run a high enough boosted turbo you will run a richer mixture and the backfire will be caused by that, its something to do with turbos and anti-lag...

    So far we have had Apex and Mizuku for a new Japanese company. Any other ideas?

    It'd need to have no more than 3 syllables (Gav-ril, I-bish-u, Hi-ro-chi, Bruck-well) unless its single letters like ETK but in that case id say no more than 3 letters or it gets difficult (BMW, BAC, MG, KTM). The name would need to roll off the tongue well so try to avoid harsh sounds in the name.

    Some ideas:
    • R-Tech - Rotary Technology
    • Suzuda - Suzuki-Mazda. Modified versions could be Suzudaspeed (reference to Mazdaspeed)
    • Maxxus - Mazda-Lexus (with an extra 'x' thrown in for good measure). Modified versions could be Maxxusspeed (reference to Mazdaspeed)
    • Rising Sun - Japan is the land of the rising sun...

    as for the names above. Rising sun makes little sense, an English name... Rosung. Seems more Japanese

    Aw right, I work off Top Gear knowledge, its when fuel is injected into the exhaust system and the exhaust gas temperatures ignite the fuel and you get that flame out the rear...

    "1991 Rosung Apex WR-426B" it has a nice ring to it..

    But why would you inject fuel into the exhaust system? Doesn't make any sense to me. How much more power does it give you anywy?

    Antilag doesnt, and nor does it get injected into the exhaust system normally. You massively retard the ignition so that when the exhaust port opens and gases flood into the exhaust system they are still burning, you can switch for a rich burn but that rarely works effectively as you dont have the extra air for the extra fuel to actually combust. The majority of expansion then occurs in the exhaust system rather than in the cylinder (or in a rotary, the rotor) where it can produce any usable power, if anything, you are technically losing all your power. Except, the system only kicks in when you come off the power and onto the clutch during a gear change or whatever so you dont need the power anyway. Gases expanding in the exhaust system will spool a turbocharger faster so when you come back onto the power you have boost available.

    Very noisy. Literally shoots fireballs out the back of the tailpipe. Not good for your turbo. But boost, boost and more boost.

    Although that assumes you actually have an antilag system fitted, think its very very rare on wankels which due to their unique operation have extra challenges in accomplishing it. In a wankel, yes they will switch for a rich fuel mixture, only really because it slows the flame front in a wankel and allows the combustion to be delayed long enough that it can still combust in the exhaust system. Not common at all. Plus with exhaust gas temperatures often being higher in a wankel in the first place, its extra hard on them.


    As for general flames on a non antilagged rotary, can happen in a turbocharged engine letting off power anyway, sometimes the airflow/pressure sensors still read large masses of air before the blowoff valve vents it properly. Too much fuel, incorrect timing, effective accidental antilag.


    Running a high boost turbo alone, no, you wont be running richer at all. You will be running more fuel, but you are running more air too, ultimately rich/lean mix still balances out. Ideally I think the sweet spot on pump gas is 14.2 units air to 1 unit fuel or thereabouts. The ideal stoichometric ratio for pure gasoline I think is an exact 15:1, but pump gas is not 100% pure, its also common for road cars to vary between being slightly rich and slightly lean under certain conditions normally for various emissions things.

    Ah, so an antilag system is just for not letting the turbo spool down while letting go on the throttle so you have it spooled up as soon as you step on it again, regardless of fuell efficiency being practically killed and the turbocharger slowly but surely being destroyed.
    And until now I thought that antilag system is just not good for the exhaust system. Well, I think now I have a real reason not to like it.

    Although one question remains: Is it true that some cars like the Audi R8 V10 Plus have a small antilag system installed, as you can see flames while shifting when looking into the exhaust pipes without the end pipe strapped on. You might probably not know what I mean, in that case, I mean this:

    Nah, thats just the thing I mention with the sensors screwing up when you let off the throttle, sometimes after you've let off the throttle, the engine still reads the high air pressure and mass from the sensors before you let the throttle. Has a tendancy to do something similar to antilag then. They dont put a full blown system on road cars, mostly because it sounds alot like firecrackers going off and pisses all the neighbours off ;)
