100km/h (60MPH) is a pretty brutal crash, Im actually amazed the passenger cell held up so well.

I have an idea that would be the ultimate police car!
A ford crew cab pickup (not a ranger, not enough space for my idea, and plus it would have to be atleast the f150) could be the ultimate police truck. Yes I know ya'll are thinking "THATS TOO SLOW THOUGH!", but just wait...
What if, they put a V16 Engine in the bed with stage 4 variable boost turbo and superchargers and a V8 with the same turbo and supercharger setup, and even both engines being not only turbocharged and supercharged, but also aerocharged (I don't even know what that is, I've just heard the term. Man that thing would be loud though... To even get that to even start and not clog the exhaust pipes (which would be hard to to do), the exhaust would be big. Them bad guys would never get away. They would also have to make the ignition start both engines (I wonder if this is even possible?). not only that, but they would have to make the body so heavy. All this would be so expensive. I'd say it would total around somewhere in the millions of dollars. They would get so much positive attention. Maybe even bystanders yelling "GET EM".

Thank god it doesn't have that Lincoln split grill design the current line-up has.

The new Pacifica is ugly. I didn't think it was possible to discontinue a minivan and replace it with something worse.
As far as marketing goes, it's also really stupid to name a completely new car after a previous one that flopped and is widely regarded as a turd by the general public.
That police truck idea is really dumb. It wouldn't sell. A police car just has to be roomy, cheap, and easy to work on. The proposed vehicle only accomplishes one of them.
The Lincoln Conti doesn't look retarded anymore. It actually looks really nice. There was just something really, really off about the concept.

I recently started a project to catalog, via Google Maps, the fun roads of the U.S. and, eventually, the world. I tried to start with the far east of the United States and go county by county. So, I started with Aroostook County, Maine.

What a pain. There are no fun roads in that area. All the paved roads are either a. residential (lots of nice homes around the lakes, a lot of which are probably summer homes) or b. Kansas-level boring, and all the good ones are dirt or, in some cases, barely even qualify as roads. Significant parts of that county are so podunk they don't even have paved roads, and they make the Wasilla area look like NYC by comparison. Even with the search technique of following the main roads on the map and looking off to the sides as you scroll, it took hours, and I found only one good road and one or two possibles - neither within the bounds of that county. As soon as you pass the county line, the roads get twistier, as if Aroostook County is cursed somehow.

The only thing that was satisfying about that was the weight that lifted from my shoulders when I realized I was done with Aroostook County.

It's rather sad if you think about it, because some of these roads, if paved, would be the equal of any Japanese mountain pass.

I did discover one trick for finding good roads in out-of-the-way places, however: look for national parks. The NPS likes to pave roads so tourists have an easier time getting in and out.

It has the exact opposite of Alaska's problem. In Maine, the farther you go from civilization, the worse the roads get. In Alaska, there are actually a few good roads, but most of them are hours from anywhere.

I'm having slightly better luck with Penobscot County:

in new york good roads are scarce. look up the sawmill parkway right outside of NYC. there is a 4 exit stretch that if scouted for cops makes for a really nice road rally stage.

Even I don't mind it, because they haven't removed its dignity with FWD like that Mustang.
