I can't quite explain it, but the layout doesn't seem accurate... It's got the rough layout, yes... But some sections seem longer than normal and some corners aren't as sharp. :-/
Were the driving physics in GT2-3 more arcade maybe? Because then you could probably get more speed out of the track in BeamNG and have more similar lap times. Just writing random junk, don't know if anything about that is true.
Or maybe it's purely a visual thing? It might be that the surroundings aren't as filled in as the original. I'm likely using details as measurements.
Thanks. Now I know how they look at least. That's worth something. (Hard to make out the differences to the BeamNG map though, since you can hardly compare the game to GT3 and 4.) Or I'm just terrible at that.
Interesting that it seems to have different proportions. I used plenty of references for the layout and 100s (maybe 1000s?) of laps testing it. GT1 has a wire frame image of the track in one of the menus, that just about gives away the whole thing. The noticeable differences would be in the elevation changes, which is never easy. I can usually get a guesstimate with real world tracks using GPS. I'm guessing its a combination of camera angle differences and lack of trees and other close objects that would make the straights seem longer and the corners different. The Beam cars are also much more realistic (slow), so you wont be going as fast around corners or carrying as much speed up the back stretch. There's also the fear factor; in GT you bounce off walls, not crash and burn. there's no apples to apples comparison, but I like it that way. Ive tested it extensively in rFactor and it feels about the same with the entry level cars, so the BeamNG team must be going in the right direction.

3:13? Easy to beat. First run: 2:21.58 Maybe you meant 2:12? I just got a 2:07.83 I'm not cutting any corners whatsoever.
Great time! I guess it's time for a hot lap contest. Unfortunately I can't compete, with my 10 FPS on lowest graphics settings and my game pad.
Will be there a TOO BIG TREE? i´m talking about this: It´s a tree but i call that ´Trial mountain Dick´
I never noticed that giant dead tree, should be doable, thanks for the idea. I know there's a big dead tree right before the second tunnel on the left side that's been there since GT1. It's kind of a brake marker or sorts for that corner before the tunnel. Things will really look better with foliage and natural features. I need a video card bad, so I can do more work in the editor. I may add some low poly trees if only temporarily.
