I appreciate the guidelines being visible now and think that they should help to improve the forums, But it is a bit much when you go to edit a post and the guidelines take half the screen on the pop up. So maybe the option to minimise the guidelines to just the headings for members who have been on the forums for over 1 month or some other system would be nice. making the pop up a bit wider might be a nice idea too. Image to show issue. But thanks for implementing this to make sure that the guidelines are more clear. In the past it had been difficult to even find the rules/guidelines without using google so this is far improved.
I got a notification for this post "aljowen quoted your post in the thread Forum changes." but I don't see my post quoted. Is this a bug?
Im not sure either. I accidentally hit the multi quote button so I clicked it again to remove your quote from the message. When I posted it your quote was added into it for some reason, so I went back to edit it and remove it out of the post since there was no need to quote you. That is why you got the email. Sorry about that. This message however is quoting you @Nadeox1 , ninja'd
To reduce S---posting you should add something like limit of characters Example: you type in LOL and try to post it and a message pops up saying: Your message contains 3 character the minimum is 15.
Or put posts that are just "lol" on a kind of blacklist. Offensive stuff and other things could go in there aswell.
That never really works. You have people just wanting to post (useful) images or answering a yes/no question. Also, you'll just get people typing
Posting guidelines stapled to my forehead are understandable but really annoying. Aldous Huxley would be proud of what the internet is becoming.
could @gabester, @Dummiesman, @Goosah please get over and clean up the spam in general discussion? mods, please. you're our only hope. thank you
Hello, I've just noticed that the categories in the mod section have updated (not sure how long ago) and now all of my skins are categorized under the "Mods of mods" category. (They where previously in the "Mods/Skins" category) How would I be able to move them to the new "skins" category? Thanks
Any idea on how to deal with the spammers that keep popping up? I know we can just report/ignore and move on, but there should be some long term solution so it doesn't keep happening. Maybe make it so that users without a tester badge can only make so many posts per 10 minutes. It would have to be so that a normal user who has yet to buy the game would not notice, but harsh enough so that spammers can't keep making new accounts and posting malicious links.
Always thought 10 posts before being able to create a new threads was an effective solution, as well as Captchas on signup. Not sure if it's a faff to sort out or not, as I've only used vBulletin tools before.
