I got a question. So I've got this Optiplex, right? Like I said earlier in the thread it's a PIII 533 and uses integrated graphics. It's a slot based CPU, with 128MB PC100 RAM. I want to throw a PIII 1000, dual Voodoo 2's and max out the ram.

Question is, the PSU is 200W and I don't think it'll drive all of that, and I don't believe it's standard, so I can't replace it. What do I do?

DISCLAIMER: I know it's a waste of time and money, but, damnit, I want a PIII gaming machine and now is my chance. Please just give me an answer instead of flaming me, that would be much appreciated.

I've done it with lesser PSU's I say go for it! Me and my dad used to build beastly Pentium II and Pentium III systems back in the day when I was just a lil Eastham. Oh and If you can try to find a Dual slot 1 motherboard, that would rock.

From personal experience I would run a minimum 550w. I ran an overclocked i5, overclocked 280x, and the rest of the PC on a 550w bronze PSU 24/7 under maximum load for months. Eventually the PSU burned out, and it wasn't a bad brand. I wouldn't dare go to a 450w

I know this may not be the right place, But where did my Program Files x86 go?
It just randomly dissapeared some day, but it still exists when you open file locations

Looks like it got hidden, open File Explorer Options, go to view, check show hidden files. Then you can right click it and un-hide it in properties.

    Top to bottom:

ThinkPad 380XD, Pentium II, 32MB's and a massive 300odd megabyte HDD
    ThinkPad T61: Core 2 Duo T7300, 4GB, the infamous Nvidia quadro nvs 140m, and a 120GB HDD
    ThinkPad T43 "FrankenPad": a missmatched combination of various T4X series ThinkPads with a Pentium M at 1.8GHz, 2GB, and a 60GB HDD

I recently sold my T60 and T400... I hope they went to good homes.

Not that I'm going to buy it, but does £300 sound good for this PC?
    2TB Hard drive
    1050W Power supply
    i7-3770k
    8GB 1600Mhz DDR3 Crucial Ballistix RAM
2x Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2GB Graphics Cards
    Sabretooth Z77 Motherboard
22" and 20" monitors (One is an LG, the other is a BenQ)
    Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse

Oh wow, yeah. That's great. The GPU's are slightly old, but for that money, it's amazing.

Borrow the money and get some courage already. I'd buy it myself if it weren't for it not being in US.

Is the T61 a widescreen? I'm looking for a nice 14 inch 4:3 T60/T60p/T61 to build with my basic T60.

Also I've got a 380XD just like that. Didn't come with an HDD so I threw in an 80GB.

    It's a 14" wide screen (1440 x 900) the Nvidia chipset motherboard wasn't available in the 4:3 T61 IIRC.

Ok for a laptop. There's much better. Doesn't begin to compete as a desktop.

error in your specs. Screen is 60Hz not 60GHz

At least the GTX960M is better than integrated graphics, so that's a good thing to start with.

Btw, what do you guys think about external GPUs, connected via Firewire, as in the LinusTechTips video about the CES 2016? Not going to buy one, probably ever. Just curious.
