Why do you think it is bad? I don't get your point. Hybrids are a good solution as long as real electrics are still extremely expensive, and the Prius is probably the most family-friendly of them.
You guys do realize that the point of this thread back when I made it was to EXPLAIN why you felt the way you do about the car you posted? Just a thought...
ok, good point. the way they get the batteries for Priuses are they start in Canada, then are shipped to England, then shipped to france, then shipped to china, then shipped to japan then shipped to America to be assembled. then they get shipped to all the places they are sold. this is only for electrics and hybrids because this is so complex. trust me I have nothing against the envirorment, that's even why I don't like this process. that's the big reason I don't like the prius, I like what it's trying to do, but this process takes the purpose out of what the car is trying to do.
Being a car guy is about appreciating cars. Don't hate on something just because someone else does,that kind of mentality is the reason why we are so fucked up as a society. If you wanna have an opinion, don't let anyone else create it for you. About the pontiac, I will agree it (and most other muscle cars) is massively over rated. You could always say it has charisma but to me this car just screams "I have a mullet, and my sister is also my wife". and I don't hate on the prius because everyone else does, I actually like edsels and corvairs, cars also hated on by the auto community. I don't like the prius because I truly don't like it.

the more I think about it, the first I started hating on the prius, I watched a youtube video. before I didn't mind them. Seriously guys? Nissan Skyline: As someone else said, U.S. car guys would be utterly apathetic toward this car if it weren't for certain movies and video games. Furthermore, if you look at it from the perspective of 1989 (when both the Z32 and R32 were intorduced), Nissan had good reasons not to bring the Skyline over. Myself, I'd rather have an RX7. Nissan GTR: I'm not sure I've seen too many of the fainbois everyone talks about, but there's no denying that this car is a massive gadgetmobile. Also, remember "launch control voids your warranty"? BMW M3: Noise I've heard indicates that an S197 Mustang Boss 302 - maybe even GT - will eat an E92 for breakfast, in the corners as well as on the straights. It's also cheaper. For the final insult, the Mustang gets better gas mileage and runs on regular gas instead of premium. In other words, BMW drivers are paying tens of thousands of dollars extra for a badge and snootiness. Bugatti Veyron: The ultimate dream car of 8 year olds, although the Koenigsegg 1:One might take that prize now (not sure how fast it actually is).
Research the manufacturing process of the Toyota prius. You need to drive the car like a sissy for a century to make up for the pollution building one makes. This is embarrassing because the thing the car was designed for it fails miserably at. Might as well strip it out and put a small block v8 in the back. Screw that car.
Going with the subject of hybrids, the Nissan Leaf. It costs $10 000 more than the new Prius, with less storage space, as well as looking far worse IMO.
I like the styling of the Prius because it doesn't look like a boring old hybrid. But like I said, it's just my opinion.
Yeah, the Prius is so randomly hated by random self-called car guys, it CAN'T be overrated anymore. I think it looks pretty nice, because it's something different. Every car has the same styling elements, but look at the Prius. Its back looks different, and the new version is even more interesting, because it looks extremely futuristic. The performance - well, do you even know that Walter Röhrl is proudest when he drives his daily Porsche as efficient as 9l/100km, and that efficiency is his true sight on the word sporty? EDIT: I really asked myself how long that guy up there searched until he found a valid reason to prove the Prius bad.
