Eventually it would be nice to have brake fade simulated too. Driving the Burnside down Stairway Mountain with simulated brake fade would be fun.
I don't think the brake disks should turn red when heated, steel doesn't naturally start changing color at all until a bit over one thousand degrees Fahrenheit, and I'm pretty sure breaks normally don't get that hot.
They do however start to glim slightly when under extremely high force for a long time, like on a (downhill) racetrack. About the tire wear: We might then also need a grip point for the tires.
Tires do need alot of work, and alot of work has been put into them yet they are one of the most difficult and complex things to simulate properly.
i think its THE most difficult thing to simulate. its worth noting that no one has a tire model even close to beamng's.
I don't doubt this statement I don't think their engine would be able to handle anything besides a track lol
Exactly my point, their tyre model is good for track racing, it isn't good for going over things, beamNG is a bit of a jack of all trades master of some.
That's what makes it special: The fact that it can simulate anything that you throw at it. I was pretty impressed that its engine natively simulated planes and helicopters. And that in a pretty good quality. They didn't even need to change anything to make them work with the game.
True but in forza it looks pretty cool when you're braking before a turn and brakes turn red and then fade out
