Try putting your game in 2x slowmotion, that`s how i get 60 fps, without slowmotion i get 15-20 fps. --- Post updated --- I could post a picture
Haha, alright, i see, i thought you meant in real-time. See, with that info i fully believe you. The real challenge here is running it in real-time.
I mean, overclocking is basically just getting more power out of your CPU at no cost, kinda hard to hate on that, I feel.
Yeah well you reconsider things after you buy a processor that costs about £900 I wouldnt rather have to buy a replacement for it....
Honestly, as long as you use the most basic common sense when overclocking, there's zero chance of causing any damage to your system. I shelled out $350 US for my i7, so it's not exactly a cheap core, but it's been running a stable, moderate overclock for months now without a hiccup. When chipmakers produce CPUs, they usually use a clock speed much lower than the technical maximum for a chip, because it makes for easy cooling and lets them pass more chips through quality control without issues. Most CPUs, even on stock coolers, have the overhead for a moderate overclock with zero negative side-effects. It's basically free additional processing power.
Actually i don't know how it works, but i know the game gets lighter when you run it in slowmotion. @RobertGracie If i had shelled out £900 for my CPU i would still OC it. Some people want rock solid stability, and doesn't bother making an OC stabil, and some people want the the most they can get out of their cpu. To damage a CPU these days by overclocking it, you really have to screw it up. People in every forum will ask you why you don't OC you'r 5960X, because 99.99% of the time, people who buy that CPU either doesn't know what they are doing or they are entusiasts. judging by you'r comments here on this forum you are an entusiast, but here the film snaps because, normally entusiasts who buy a 5960X is doing it because they want the most power they can get, but you seem to only have that specific CPU because you can, and i think that's why people are scratching their heads or try convincing you to OC the CPU
My processor cost the same as your computer and my dad said if I break my processor I have to pay the £900 bill for a new one...
Wow wow now, lets not get cocky here. my PC cost £1850. The only reason i wrote that was to try and give you some info about why a lot of people are nagging you about OC, because it's not normal for people to have 5960X and not OC it.
I know but I donno how to OC properly and I would not want to run the risk of blowing a perfectly good processor man...I just need time to learn...
Well if you don't want to OC, then don't, you have absolutely no reason to OC, unless you want to wanna run benchmarks and have the best score you can get. Other then that, no reason. And to be clear i'm not trying to get you to OC.
I know and I like my processor running at 26 Degrees C anyway I dont wanna push it any harder than I need to...
If you want to get the most out of your processor, OC'ing can be a bit tricky. But if you are just looking for a quick performance boost, it can be one of the easiest thing ever. Go into the BIOS, and somewhere you should find a setting for ratio multiplier. That determines your frequency. 3.3 as a multiplier means 3.3 GHz. If you just change that, you run almost zero risk of breaking anything, as you are changing no voltages or anything else complicated. Just change that number until you get a stable OC, which is to say you can run your system under load without any BSOD or other crashes. I know next to nothing about computers and programming, and I was able to go from 3.3 GHz to 4.3 GHz with my 5820k. It's been running strong for almost a year. That extra GHz really helped, as I was then able to go from running the T Series at 20 fps to a solid 60. Also, modern equipment is built with so many failsafes that your processor will most likely shut down before any damage is done.
I understand thanks I am just playing it safe my system is only 3 months old remember so all pretty new parts in it still so I dont wanna risk stressing my system out now...I built it to last for years...
Just info here. yes OC decreases the lifetime of you'r CPU, but with a 1 Ghz OC a CPU still wouldn't die before it's obsolete anyway, i learned to OC on my old I7 920, and it ran with 1 Ghz OC i bought it in 2009 aad it still works. Apparently the whole X99 family is here. crazikyle 5820K Me 5930K RobertGracie 5960X
I know about the life expectancy thing, thats why I stick to stock clocks. hehe the 5th Generation Trio!
With the belaz, the i5 laptop I use doesn't lag, but doesn't run smoothe I play on low graphics settings (i think) and dynamic reflection settings to the max
