True, they run games worse than GeForce cards. Still good enough for some games. I'm sure there are also HP gaming laptops, but gaming laptops are shit.
maybe I'll find out what best friends laptop is running gpu wise, not expecting much, I know its an i7 cpu and cost £800 so gpu is hardly going to be high end territory for a laptop even, I just know its NVIDIA. I'm supposed to be cleaning the thing up later today so maybe beamng on a usb... HP though
Beamng won't run on some laptops from dell, lenovo, toshiba, apple, etc... It is the internals that count, not the overall brand.
Adding to this I have a HP 2000 notebook. that I got from a friend awhile back for free. I used to play beam, while I was waiting for my parts to rebuild my main rig to come in. I3-2328M (2012) 4GB RAM Integrated graphics W10 64 bit For what its worth, it ran a d15 on gridmap on minimum settings @ 26-27 FPS. I was amazed that the thing could even run beam at a "playable" FPS considering what specs it has.
yea its playabole 2 but i need to reinstal windows for the 10000st time bc it uses to many ram and laggs i think i installed the wrong version try windows 10?
i mean windows lag if ittakews 5 minutes to shut down afther like clean install beamng is fine but windows it self is bullshit
I reinstalled windows on this laptop a few days ago because it corrupted. But even if i didnt doing normal things like turning it on doesnt take that long, any performance you try and suck out of it doesnt work though.
There is no real difference between the laptop and desktop besides the form factor, many laptops are far faster than some desktops, and many desktops are faster than many laptops.
First off Laptop GPUs suffer huge performance hindrances due to the form-factor limitations. Many CPUs have cores disabled so you'll see duel core I7s So you can stop giving out false crap. Bottom line Modern Laptop < Modern Desktop Plus laptops have much higher price ranges for the same hardware, yet another form factor limitation.
I realize that laptops are worse than desktops, however, they are still easily capable of running games, so my previous statement still holds true, that Beamng wasn't specifically made just for desktops.
lower clock speeds. Thermal throttle. Smaller caches. GPUs modified for lower performance. Slower RAM. Totally....
Then don't say there is no real difference. Facepalm Please leave, just go, go now! Just because laptops can run games which I never said they couldn't doesn't mean they are not different in a bad way, it takes a beefier laptop to run the same game with the same results in performance.
