I want node offset to move a jbeam to a new location but as stated here:

"Another behavior of nodeOffset, designed to work well with wheels, is that it uses absolute values when offsetting. So for example, if you have two things, one at x:0.5 and one at x:-0.5, and you offset them by 0.3, they would become 0.8 and -0.8, not 0.8 and -0.2. This keeps things symmetrical and makes it easy to widen or narrow track width."

I would need nodes 0.5 and -0.5 to become 0.8 and -0.2 but it seems that nodeoffset is designed to work the other way, is there a workaround for this??

I don't believe it is possible, as you quoted, that thing is designed to work with the wheels. An option/argument to disable that is not possible.
What would be your test case for that?

Oh ok I tried using it to move the stig driver into a car, instead of moving to the coordinates it kind of stretched because some of the nodes are negative some are possitvie to over come this I moved the whole model to positives in the x y z plane, now it acts the way I need it to.

The concept of nodeOffset is excellent but
I don't see why the Devs wouldn't see the benefits of making the node offset work in that way also.

For anyone that needs it to work the way I described needs to move the whole model to possitvie manually first.

We made it that way because that's what we needed it for. If we had cases were this thing wasn't needed, we would have made it differently.

If you just need to move the STIG Jbeam a bit to the left/right, then don't use NodeOffset (which is meant for global stuff, like wheels, not stuff like the one you are doing), but use this:

Ok cool that's just what I need, but also doing it that way is more time consuming then moving a few offset nodes in the slots section, I think it would be a useful addition to the nodeOffset feature, flexboides have translate, rotation and scale modifiers beucase it has praticle application, nodes and beams would be great to have this ability, since copying and pasting node coordinates can be time consuming, hence the reason the community saw the need to build a node beam modifier. Saying that it's a feature that would be used less often is one argument but it doesn't hold water to the practical functionality it would provide for the small percentage of modders who would need it, it's kind of like using , at the end of some strings. Not very useful to all but there.

Also the other argument as you stated is that it shouldn't be used like that and the nodes and beams should be physicaly to the right coordinates in the actual jbeam, that is a good point, but I think many would still benefit from a node offset that works like I described.
