I think that the best car for a pilot is a Chevrolet Chevelle, because I see it as a powerful machine, delivering you to a yet another powerful machine both consumpting more fuel then 50 diesel trains. It's iconic, and reminds me of good ol' days of commercial aviation.
Those are very nice rides, but as an aspiring Delta pilot, I'll take a Mercedes SL65 AMG for my daily driver and a Koeniggsegg CCXR to hang out in my garage. I am very fond of cars, and sadly I can identify more cars than planes. I must say I love Chevelles though.
Actually I take that back about Delta. I can't decide if I want to go that route, or start my own Part 135 business....
Haha I hardly know myself what it is! But as far as I know, it's basically where you can, with a commercial pilot's license, fly random people for money while using your own plane.
Yep, it's like a short-flight charter business. The average starting salary for an airline pilot is ~$50,000, and it usually goes to ~$200,000 for an experienced pilot.
Every time I've heard about it, it seems VERY appealing. I just might make that my career so I can stay local.
Weird. First I read things like "Pilots earn so much money blah blah" then I found another thing "Pilots are poor- 35 grand starting and 60 expirienced if lucky." Whom do I believe?

I've always been told to expect minimum wage working for regionals, especially while building turbine time. But back to topic; I drive a diesel '95 Chevy Silverado... but I'd like to have an orange '57 Chevy 150 w/ a turbo'ed 454 spinning a set of Cragar SS', or a '63 Chevy Corvette... or a '67 Chevy Nova. But I'm really a pickup guy, so I'd love to own a '93 Chevy 454 SS Silverado, which are something of unicorns these days. Excuse me as I adjust my bowtie. In all seriousness; I find that after I started flying, everything else really became dull. Flying has genuinely sucked the excitement out of my everyday life, so any car(s) I buy in the future need to have mucho HP and copious amounts of class (or sex appeal, that works too). I'm too American for imports, can't replace classic Detroit steel in my eyes, so all these little Subarus and VW's I see in every flight training center's parking lot, they just won't cut it for me. #'Murica
