I find it quite hard to control the vehicles ingame. I tried them all so far, but it doesn't look like it's supposed to work well with keyboards. Does anybody know if you can play well with keyboards or a controller is absolutely necessary?

Have you tried with dynamic steering off? (Shift + B)

The cars handle pretty nicely in the current public version. Just ease off the throttle a bit and drive a bit more carefully as they won't handle unrealistically like in other games such as NFS or some such.

    Thanks to both.

Yeah, well I did play NFS Shift and LFS a bit, but I couldn't understand why the cars were so weird here.

Dynamic steering was one of the main cause. It's too unfinished now to be good, but I think it will get better. Another thing is that the terrain is extremely bumpy and makes it even harder for the cars. But I'm getting used to it now and having loads of fun :)

you also might want to get at least a gamepad of some kind, its really worth it for this game. you need to be able to just steer the half way or accelerate 60 % instead of 100 or you will just miss alot of vehicle behaviour.
if i wouldnt own a xbox 360 pad for pc i would go and buy one, keyboard really wastes a lot of the fun this game offers... as for now. of course i hope that can be adressed later on in the development but will stay a "problem" on acceleration even then i guess. as even in lfs you have to speed tap the buttons.

That's true, but while I live at a dorm that can't happen. Once I move out in a rented apartment or something you can bet your ass the first things I'll get are a gaming rig with the necessary equipment/controllers :)
