Checked the voltage's on the pins of the left channel power IC module, worst fears confirmed. Pin Normal > what I'm getting 1 - -23.4v > -23.3v 2 - 0v > 0v 3 - -23.7v > -24.13 4 - 0v > 21.75v Bad 5 - 23.7v > 24v 6 - 12.5v > 24.12v this too 7 - 0.16v > 14.34v and this 8 - 7.56v > 7.81v 9 - 0v > 0v 0 - 0.16v > 4.69v and this It's more than likely fried. The right channel IC voltages are fine, exactly what the should be.
Problem is the power IC, seems to be shorted internally so I'll have to try and track down a replacement for that, should sound pretty sweet when it's fixed, I love old gear like this, real aluminium face plate and a glass window for the dial face, hate to sound like a old man but you really don't see this kind of quality in modern gear. Beautiful.
I have a nice 100 watt head I need to get 6l6s for. On a nice 4x12 it will shake your god damn soul before it comes CLOSE to thinking about breaking up.
Some of those ICs can be scarce. I was glad nothing was wrong with the ones in the Kenwood that I gave my brother. Not to mention high-quality components. This 3.5 (or so) wpc console has all of its original components at 56 years old except one of the output tubes, which is still old. Oh, and it doubles as a heater.
Nah, you don't sound like an old man. You are absolutely correct. Most brands do not make em like they used too. Since music has became commodity over the years meaning the majority of modern equipment is commodity equipment, while in the past decent quality audio was a luxury. So high quality audio equipment usually came with high quality materials. But that isn't to say that all modern audio equipment is crap, since a lot of it is solid state these days even a lot of the cheap plastic equipment is capable of lasting a very long time providing that people treat them even remotely well. If you spend the sort of prices that these high end old units would have costed new you can get something equally well built with likely cleaner audio today. But ofc pre owned old equipment is going to be cheaper than buying new.
I have only just noticed that in the corner there was a users online counter, and also for some reason it said "Robots" wtf
In the card, don't use water or anything that could corrode the contacts, alcohol based nail varnish remover, or ideally contact cleaner/ Isopropanol alcohol, with a qtip, if you don't have any of these just wip the contacts with a dry qtip.
is it really beyond common sense to work out how to get the dust out of a connector? Q-tip. Cotton ear buds. Things.
If Eastham said cotton ear buds i would get that, when i arrive at home i gonna try it! --- Post updated --- I have GT4 on the max mem.card 32 mb,not the 8 mb fapgot
