Saw a young kid get hit by a car on the way home from work, he ran into the road & got hit by a Toyota Hilux. He got thrown onto the bonnet & belted his arm on the windscreen, smashed the left headlight. I pulled over, young fella just seemed shaken by it a few other witnesses were there & one was calling an ambulance so I just left seeing as I wasn't contributing anything
sometimes all you can do is leave it. I witnessed a major single vehicle accident but drove off once, people were already running to the car with first aid gear, fire extinguishers and blankets. I had nothing to offer
If I ever see a serious accident that is caught on my dashcam I'll pull over, even if it's just to give my contact info to any of those involved if they need the video. I'd also stop it is a minor accident where it's ambiguous who is at fault.
I'll never stop for an accident because people who get in accidents are people I do not wish to deal with. #edgelord
In Finland there isnt almost none car accidents but if a kid gets hit by it gets on the news and is in the same level if our president assinated. And there is NEVER police chases. Sound boring?
I have a feeling the no police chases is due to the people like the ghost rider, getaway in stockholm and people who run from the police at high speeds. Examples:
That's not being a wanker, that's being human. like when you see a dying bird on the road, do you let it die or wrap it up in a fucking shoebox and blanket, prolonging it's death? same thing goes for crashes, you don't know what to do, so if you do something, it will make it worse.

I have the knowledge and equipment to deal with injuries and a fire, but I'm not gonna do diddly squat unless it's my own mother because I don't want to get sued for not aligning the casualty in the correct angle for maximum Feng Shui effect or some shit. My fire extinguishers are for my car, and my first aid kit is for myself. I'll probably need them one day because the MX5 just begs to be driven all cheeky sideways like. :/

If you see a car thats on fire that may have people trapped in it and don't even care to stop and ask if the fire is putting anyone in immediate danger, go die in a hole. In the states we have good samaritan laws that protect you from bs lawsuits if you are doing something like that.
as long as there is evidence they were in immediate danger, you can not be sued for hurting someone while moving them to safety. i wouldn't expect someone from Australia to understand that in between bites of grilled shrimp and kangaroo skewers.

I think part of it is that TV chases are not usually aired live in many countries, I have always assumed that there must be some law against it otherwise channel 5 would be on that. But also in the UK if a police chase situation occurs its fairly usual for the police to back off. The general idea is that if the police are not on someone's immediate tail they will take less risks when driving in order to prevent an incident from occurring. Then they will just follow with the police chopper. Not to mention that there is no pit manoeuvring in many places in Europe.
