I was just thinking it would be nice if there could be a page that says APPROXIMATELY when the next update for BeamNG.drive is! (this is my idea. you don't have to like it)
Wanna know my update release notice? Its not really the same thing but just look at the last update for beamng, it was the 10th of February, beamng has monthly updates, but since that was never officially stated, sometimes it might go longer then a month. But lets just say that its monthly, last update was the 10th, and now we are the 6th march, my "update notice" is that there is going to be an update in the next week or 2. Also, is it just me or the devs teases us every time the end of the month approaches, that always bring some hype for me.
Just be patient. I don't want to sound like the devs, but it's true. The update will come when it's ready. They can't rush things, and unexpected bugs will pop up the night before release delaying the update by a week or something. If they make deadlines or even tentative release dates, the community will go ballistic if they miss that for any number of valid reasons. Last update, Tdev made the mistake of saying they were going to update the game that friday at like 6pm germany time (which is their usual release schedule, expect updates around fridays at that time) but for some reason they missed it and the entire community was just "gib update plz" that whole weekend. I'd imagine that that lead to them having to release 5.2.1 to fix what they wanted to fix, but didn't have the time because the community was clamoring for the update.
One reason IMO, the devs don't have a set release date. If they said "expect" a update release on X date.. That date comes and passes, and no update is to be seen.. Example (Behind the scenes they found a problem that they need to fix and the update gets pushed further back .) Then you got a bunch of "angry" people, saying well you guys said "this" and "that" and this date etc etc. That's the way I look at it..
12 voters were just saying no, and 12 voters were hating supra4life... But i'd love to have a thread for release dates, but crazikyle is right.
