Please buy anything but a Dell, I've had nothing but bad luck with them. If you really have to buy something pre built, my personal suggested makes are; HP, Compaq, Powerspec, CyberPowerPC, and if you have an extremely large budget go with a Falcon Northwest Talon or FragBox.

However, for a really good computer for BeamNG, do what I did and most of us did and just take your budget and build one. I built the desktop in my signature for $650 USD.

1,000% true. I bought a dell xps and the HD 5770 in it failed after 2 years. It will cost $150 to fix a $80 card. :l. All my dells failed. However my dad built a custom PC in 1998 and upgraded it and it was still working in 2006. It was still running all the games at a good rate but the mobo failed and I got a dell XD. I would get an i5 or i7 with a 7770 or 7970 (or NVIDIA equivalent.) For pre-built cyberpowerPC is very good. They give a certain discount over the holidays too! (This has not been a payed advertisement.)

I can't think of a bigger waste of money than buying a whole computer from a company. Building a computer is donkey work. Its simple. Case, motherboard, RAM sticks, CPU, GPU, hard drive, and PSU. Put everything together, plug a few cables in, install the heat-sinks and your fans. Put an OS on there and you're done. When I did it I saved 70% of the cost of buying a prebuilt computer of the same spec and got a clean install of Windows with none of the idiotic software that computers come packaged with. Good fun, stress free and at the end you get a good computer with a fraction of the cost. A Dell Inspiron One 23 seems to cost about 800 GBP. For that you can build yourself a very good system with a better specification. Assuming that the costs translate, 800 GBP is about $1300 and you can more than do alot with that budget with extensive use of newegg.com.

I'll leave suggesting hardware to someone who's up to date on it, though. The last time I was looking up part specs was well over a year ago. Back when the AMD Phenom x6 was considered a low budget alternative to the Core i7... in my mind. I urge you to literally run away screaming from prebuilt PC's.

EDIT: I've come back and its occurred to me that there's a 100% consensus on this thread. Build your own damn computer. I like that.

Building your own computer is the way to go; far cheaper. Just make sure you read the instructions carefully :D Also make sure you're patient; the computer I'm using now made this "beeeeeeeeeeeep-be-beep" sound every time I tried to start it and it was both frustrating and unnerving until I figured out the problem.

Yes, very true. I built a computer back in 2007 and I was working on it at 10 Pm. I turned it on and sparks went everywhere and it went BZZBTZB. I about crapped myself but it just fried the ram because I put it in backwards, no fire. I was building it to learn so it wasn't a loss of money. I also learned not to do anything you don't need to do when you are tired.

make your own computer. you can ask for help if you havent built one before. but, be careful. my desktop is pretty outdated but i put good thermal paste onto the gpu but i didnt put the heatsink on right. it took me a week before i realized that it was hitting about 250 degrees f and that was what was causing low fps.

i dont even use my desktop often because its pretty slow at normal things plus my laptop (somehow) plays rigs of rods better.

At the moment we don't know any of the specs that will be needed for BeamNG. However, seeing as with the 7850 you'll be able to play most games on high then I do not any issue with your specs. The 2120 is a perfectly capable CPU which whilst only having 2 cores has 4 hyperthreads. In theory you should be able to run it fine.

Let me get this one straight. A while back you made the "will my pc be able to run Beamng" thread. Now you've gone and made the exact same thread again because you changed your hardware slightly. Despite the immense amount of posts on this topic already stating a vague guideline but no real specific answers. Despite the same result that no-one actually knows the hardware requirements, you're hoping that there might now be a different answer that is specific to your computer specifications despite the fact that no-one knows. I have to say, I'm loving your thought process. I actually found this funny purely because I've finished playing Far Cry 3.

You have the same GPU and HDD space as me ironically, 2 cores should be fine but I would recommend 4. I have 6...

A good rule of thumb is that if you can run RoR at all with playable FPS, you can run BeamNG better.

BeamNG will be much more optimized than RoR.

That's not necessarily true; keep in mind that we may not be able to support all the hardware that runs RoR. In some maps/vehicles RoR can run on some really old and outdated hardware.

While it's true that it is far better optimized in both physics and graphics I don't expect it will run on a relic from another age.

Well people with computers from the bronze age can't really expect to run any new game either.

Mine's from the Stone Age. :/ but any way, if you bought from dell or another popular pre-built PC company you do need the graphic card first. I don't know WHY but that will give you a great CPU but will give you a mid-low GPU...

That's because pre-built regular computers aren't built with gaming in mind. They're built for mostly for internet use which is what most people use their computer for. Some stuff on the internet require a good cpu, but nothing there requires a good gpu

I don't know. I'd love to see someone try to run BeamNG on an abacus, or a difference engine. Here, something useful to go by.

I mean the xps and Alienware branches. They are "meant" for gaming but they bottleneck the CPU with the GPU.

+1 to all the others telling you to build one. I found and ordered all of the pieces for my new computer myself, of course requiring a little research but in the end it turned out amazingly! Try to get a good motherboard/processor so you may upgrade in the future without replacing the entire computer.
