Update Speculation thread

v0.5.2 was released exactly 1 month ago now, maybe this Friday?

 

I think this week friday or next week friday will be most likely

 

Oh god! If the update is coming this weeks friday I am going to be so hyped that I am going to stress myself from the hype.

 

Tdev gave the impression that there are currently a lot of game breaking issues ATM, so I'd be surprised if it's this weekend. I've been spectacularly wrong in the past though, so we'll see. I want to bring something up though. One of the devs mentioned that there are currently "20+" cars in-game to manage, which kinda sorta gave something away. We have 17 cars in the current update, and two known in-game that are unreleased. Any speculation on what other 1-3 cars they have up their sleeve are? The ETK 800 series proved that they may not be even a known car...

 

This Friday, i don't think so, maybe end of March?

 

I wonder how many people here will whine if it doesn't come out on Friday, the deadline they set themselves.

 

They dont set themselfs a deadline. Having a deadline is stupid. They release the updates if they know it´s almost bugfree and they implemented everything they wanted. Stay Tuned™ -BeamNG

 

I think he meant something different or you understand it wrong. It's just, if it doesn't release on Friday, people start to get mad because of the deadline, not a real deadline, but just what they hope. So they will start whining, or at least some.
And would the new update have new sounds? I'm curious.

 

Maybe little things like how they've revamped glass and suspension. I think we're still a bit off from full on unique vehicle sounds. Who here thinks the Covet's sound is an acceptable final product? Maybe I'm too picky, but it still seems a bit unrealistic to me.

 

I think the covet's sound was just to test the new sound system. Also they have since hired sound engineer's, so I assume each vehicle will get new sounds made by the sound engineer.

 

My new PC doesn't come in until the 21st, so I can wait

 

Last update (0.5.2) came out exactly last month ( 9/10th february) 0.5.1 came out on december 30th. Maybe we will get something between 10th-15th ?

 

I think that it was just a coincidence, the release dates. Or at least those. Because as alot of people said, the developers release their content when they think it's finished. And of course there are always new bugs coming with new updates, but that's one of the reasons why we get to play it I can't wait for the update, but that's the same thing i'll say, and alot more people will say after the update is out for a week.

 

So with the T-Series ambulance in development, I thought to myself, we need a dump truck! So I'm thinking either a dump truck (like the ones that go around cities picking up garbage) attachment to the T-Series, or a new cab-over Gavril, like the L-Series or something. ( look up Mack dump truck if you don't know what I'm talking about)

 

I'm pretty sure the ambulance is based on the H-Series and not the T-Series.

 

Reasons for update tomorrow:
1. It's been a month since last update.
2. New ground model seems to be fixed and working
3. Massive visual updates to ECA, new ground model could mean Utah is done and in game
4. Engine thermal sim seems to be working now.
5. Miramar and/or ETK 2400i is done and in game working.
6. "Something is on the horizon" Blog post has been in the works for weeks now, with Tdev posting some info on his research a few days ago. Possible to drop with the new update?
7. Hype levels are too high and forums may implode if no new update comes out soon; devs may want to avoid this.

Gonna say I called it pretty well.

 

I don't care about when the update is, all that matters is that it will happen at some point.

The wait will seem non-existent upon release.

 

I hope the Ibishu Miramar is in 0.5.3.

 

I wonder who's going to rice the Mirimar first when it releases

 

Max out camber and set as .pc in the mod database.
