Do not change RAM when the computer's on. You are likely to damage something.

 

i removed ram from a computer while it was running. guess i got lucky, as ram and computer still work.

I think, while that can cause damage, putting in RAM while it's on will cause issues.

So the Haswell-E CPUs aren't much of an improvement over Skylake, trading blows with the 6700K and overclocked 6600K.
Also, dual core Pentiums are apparently crap for gaming. I'm pretty sure G3258+R7 370 is still better than an i3-6100+R7 250, or an APU, however.

You're onto something, this version of BeamNG seems to eat memory like never before. I was at 86% memory usage running only BeamNG and a music player, highest usage I'd ever seen.

 

Yeah Beam just crashed stating I ran out of memory, I think a Dev needs to look into this.

 

Why not post that image to the 0.5.3 bugs thread? It'll probably get Nadeox1's or another developer's attention there.

On topic, my 8500 gt overclocks great. Like from 400 mhz on both memory and core clocks to 650, without reaching even 80 degrees. Not quiet at all, but impressive.

You can find a used sony one on amazon for less than ten dollars, including shipping.

 

System and compressed memory should be using under 50mb ram at any one time, more likely thats the cause. Only windows 10 issue I have had is system and compressed.... Disabled it on mine.

 

Suddenly buying way too much RAM is paying off. I hadn't even noticed a change. Even on my old 4gb PC, the only memory issues I had were with my old 9800GT running out of VRAM (512 mb doesn't go as far as it used too)

 

Not really. As I said, at absolute most, I was at 86%, which still leaves me with more than a gigabyte of physical memory plus whatever amount in pagefile. And, keep in mind, this way solely because BeamNG had a memory leak - otherwise, I have yet to go over 5GB of RAM usage even with Chrome, BeamNG (when not leaking), a music player, MSI afterburner and some other junk open. Even with Blender rendering, you have to do some crazy physics simulations to make 8GB an issue. 24GB is very difficult to consume unless you edit 4K videos...

 

I just found out that my pc still uses ddr2 ram i think I should upgrade it i hope i can fit a ddr4 into my Mainboard

If your PC uses DDR2 memory, then it's going to stay that way until you upgrade your motherboard + CPU. You can't just stick DDR4 into a DDR2 system and expect it to work. Also, going from DDR2 to DDR4 won't improve performance almost at all. You need to buy a new CPU + motherboard to use DDR3 or DDR4.

 

Oh okay i wanted to change the motherboard and cpu anyway in the near future Bluescreen told me two wich i am going to buy but i hoped i could upgrade the ram first

 

When you upgrade your motherboard and CPU, you'll need to get new RAM anyway, since new CPUs don't support DDR2 anymore. I'm sure our resident computer building Bluescreen can help you with your build options.

 

You can't - a board only supports one type of RAM, with the exception of some late high-end LGA775 boards which supported both DDR2 and DDR3. Technically it's also possible for an LGA1151 board to support both DDR4 and DDR3, but there aren't any that do AFAIK.

If you have a Core 2 CPU your board is most likely DDR2 only. DDR4 is not only unsupported but will also not physically fit.
The same applies to a new board, if you buy an LGA1151 board it will be DDR4 only (there are DDR3 boards, but not recommended) and your RAM will not be compatible. You'll need to buy CPU+MB+RAM.
