This game already looks pretty good on high settings, but it would be nice if their was an even better graphical setting such as: Ultra Settings. That will just make everything look much better, but, im not sure if this is already the max graphical limitation on Cryengine, if it is, then nvm :p.

The game doesn't run on CryEngine 3 since 2012. It runs on Torque 3D

oohh, ok. i didnt know that :/, but is this the limit that the graphics can reach?

It's the best Torque3D can do. It's a dated game engine, not only lacking in the eye-candy features but also lacking in optimization. The fact is, with a GTX 970, I'm struggling to hold 60 at normal settings, so turning up the graphics would mean even worse performance.

However, in the future the devs plan to implement Vulkan as their API as opposed to DX11, so that opens the doors to better performance and possibly better graphics.

i have a GTX 960m 16 Gigs ram with a core I7 laptop and i can stay on high settings with around 60 fps, im not saying to remove the other ones, but to add in a graphical setting that would make the details better, if the pc cant handle the "Ultra Setting", then you can just stay with other ones. Since this probable Torque 3D's maximum graphics detail, then we'll just have to wait for the new one ;(

Perhaps NVIDIA Gameworks Support? like HBAO+ and NVIDIA TXAA?

Would make basically no difference really. What would however is lighting or or reflection work. Either way though I think the game looks more than good enough for the time being, maybe after all the important stuff is done.

that would be cool, i just what it is and it makes objects look a lot more realistice.

BTW, this game isnt supported by Geforce Experience right? i cant find the game in it

HBAO+ would make a massive difference. AMD Users would suffer but tbh if youre using an AMD GPU your already wasting your time since its NVIDIA or GTFO for graphics these days due to all games being optimized for them.

Maybe we should add Voxel Global Ilumination? (google it)

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We still don't have motion blur or fresnel reflections, and some other fairly basic effects.

Fuck no. Performance is bad enough, we don't need GimpWorks killing performance for anyone without Maxwell cards.

Except AMD absolutely wrecks Nvidia at DX12 since they support true async compute. DX11 performance isn't very far either with the 390 trading blows with the 970 in most games.

how r ur guys's pc's running so slow??? mine is only a Nvidia Geforce GTX 960m and I can play at 50 to 60 FPS on high settings... I downloaded the game on my SSD and i noticed a 10 FPS difference. Here is my laptop: http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.G6TAA.005

Runing the game on an SSD WILL NOT increase FPS.

Not slow at all, 70+ FPS maxed out with dynamic reflections on maps like JRI and ECU, 120+ on gridmap.

my fps used to used to be 40 to 50 on max settings when it was on my HDD, and now its 50 to 60 on my SSD :/, I know for a fact that M.2 SSD's increase the speed of your system, mine is not an M.2 tho

An SSD is faster storage. Will improve loading times and general system responsiveness. Not framerate. Once the game is running, everything is in memory and there's almost no drive I/O, certainly not enough to cause a performance bottleneck. Unless you run out of RAM, then you'll have to read from swap and an SSD will be faster, but still awfully slow, enough to make the game unplayable.

Engine is getting a graphical overhaul to increase performance and hopefully make things look better.
wait wait how are you doing that? I too have a 970 which runs at 1.4 ghz and I barely get 60 on all maps with dynamic reflections at half settings, no AA and lighting and shaders on medium settings.

    Source?
Max settings, dynamic reflections set to about middle of the sliders, 500m distance. Industrial and Port drop to 40-50 because of all the static meshes which T3D is crap at handling.

Also, remember to turn off Vsync. I use the frame limiter at 80 to avoid drawing unnecessary frames.

Probably referring to the likely APU switch from DX11 to Vulcan.
@crazikyle Vulcan isn't a graphics engine, but an API. It's what connects the gfx engine to the GPU.

You mean API? If they're planning to switch T3D over to Vulkan, that's pretty cool.
