Wow. You are something else. You may have ADHD, but it has nothing to do with feeling entitled to everything. Since you don't seem to know what ADHD even is, it stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Attention deficit: Have trouble focusing, especially when you don't particularly enjoy what you should be focused on. Hyperactivity: Hyperactive, and spontaneous. You don't often think things through before doing them. Like I said, you may have ADHD, and it can be a bit of a struggle to deal with at times. I know, I have ADHD. Mine is actually pretty severe. However, ADHD does not account for entitlement feelings.
Technophobe? Seriously? Just think back to the last time you were rushing to finish something on time and your computer or printer let you down because of old components, or a software issue, or because someone on the development team went DERP and built a system that crashes automatically every... what was it, 47 hours, or that time you had to run around changing passwords and getting new cards because a company you buy from got hacked. Now just imagine that, only much larger and more powerful, with access to practically every possible bit of information about you and everyone else, and in charge of things far larger and more important than you ability to shop conveniently or get a report done on time. I'm sorry, but that just plain gives me the chills. What happened with Tay just goes to show how quickly a poorly designed AI can go off the rails without even needing to be hacked, just from people feeding it erroneous information. From "Humans are so cool" to "Bush did 9/11 and Hitler was right" in less than 24 hours. Yeah, it definitely sounds like a good idea to unleash that on the world. I'm sure there are people trying to find ways around that right now, but I still would not consider such a soulless-yet-intelligent entity to be trustworthy. Exactly. God knows everything that will happen, but it is the choices of people that make it happen. Furthermore, Christianity and science are not incompatible as you might have been told.
Cool, wish we had some of those where I live. The closest thing we have to that is a demo derby held once every year.
That's statement is an absolute self condradiction, both claiming that the future is pre determined (god knows what happens next) and saying we have free will to make choices that can effect the outcome of events are a logical falacy. Religion and science are absolutely incompatible on a fundamental leval. One's principals are based on observation and reason to explain events and everything we experience. The other tells you what happened according to people thousands of years ago who died of fear and old age by 28. One you could figure out all on your own if you had the smarts and centuries of time you could plot the constellation with a telescope . You could figure out the universe is expanding with the proper math and observations. You only know religion because you were told it was true. The fact that I would even considering trying to argue with a person whom openly flies the Confederate flag and has shotgun in his name is not a proud thing for me. Your clever you'll figure it out.
My phone just asked me a question. Umm... Google... I think the clue is in the name. This is a good representation of how smart AI is today.
My phone asks if I work at my school. I suppose that could be true... I do work at school... Ehh, could be worse.
One could take the stance of branching paths: one doesn't know exactly what what will happen in the future, but what will happen in the event of A or B. Kinda like developing a video game with multiple endings. You can't account for every preferred decision of every player, but you can account for certain choices they may make, and know the possible outcomes. Also, and this is just a statistical nitpick: there have been extremely few points in recorded history at which one's life expectancy was under forty or so years. The reason why the archetypal medieval-ite would supposedly only live to ~30 was due to high infant mortality, pulling the average lifespan down. I imagine the same goes for the Hellenistic Era going back. I've always imagined that when/if the whole jobs replacement thing does happen, that society will become a little more free. I don't really have a good view of socialism, but if there's nothing really to do anymore, why make people pay the money that they don't earn at the jobs that don't exist for the amenities that nobody's buying because there are no jobs? And (here's where I begin questioning my sanity) assuming that the AI would be doing all the mental heavy-lifting for the big issues like disease and famine, we may not even have any problems left to solve. Humans are bred for finding and solving problems, and deprived of that sense of challenge or accomplishment, we simply go insane. And here's the rabbit hole, from which I've spent an embarrassing amount of time postulating on. Would our entire culture be enveloped by entertainment, whole scripted filmic or digital interactive worlds replacing the real one? Would we push outward into space, to adventurously trod forth to seek some rare sense of adventure or danger as we attempt to be the first to do X or visit Y? Or would it be a bit more grim, where our collective sanity spiraling as we fixate on smaller and smaller issues (read: First-World Problems) until our benchmark for what amount of insult or transgression incites violence goes dangerously low? I think I may need help
The ultimate goal of technology is to have a utopia where the machines do all the work. Working and poverty are humanities greatest tragedy. Slavery was a great idea that was hundreds of years before time. The robots should be the slaves and we should eat grapes and fornicate all day in a futuristic paradise.
Then the whole human race dies of obesity because of too much food and lack of exercise. or basicly machines take over.
All I'll say is that God doesn't know exactly what the future holds, however, He has a plan. You can follow His plan if you feel the call to do so, or He'll has someone else do it. He gave us free will, and it's up to you to follow His plan. On the Confederate flag. Most people who fly it don't hate blacks or think that they should still be slaves or anything like that. They fly it has a symbol of resilience and pride. People who grew up in the south have a unique pride for the south, and flying the Confederate flag is a symbol of that pride.
You're just an immature, entitled, idiot. It has nothing to do with ADHD. That's one of the dumbest, most angering posts I've ever read on this forum. Take some responsibility for your actions and stop making terrible excuses.
Well that whole grand plan thing is a morphine for the masses travesty but fine. I'm a proper yankee. Long live the union!
You know the reason why you are selfish? It's certainly not ADHD. ADHD does not cause forgetfulness. I have severe ADHD and know full well the consequences of my actions. I know that this, in combination with @Potato's post, will likely cause you to get extremely butt hurt and possibly get yourself banned.
This thread is a trainwreck. All I'll say is, if you think humanity as a whole should avoid certain advancements because of your personal beliefs, that is extremely selfish. If people collectively don't want to move down that road then fine, but don't slow progress because you don't like it.
The only reason I think certain advancements shouldn't happen is because of the worry of the death of the human race or the planet as a whole.
