All the hondas with VTEC have a horribly undercammed primary. I dont get why either. Well, I do to an extent, something like a honda jazz you can have a lovely eco cam then once you hit 5k let open the engines full "power" (VTEC engines you do have to get used to driving quite highly strung, its fine, they're designed for it, usually mega overspecced oil galleries and reinforced rods stock both to aid high rev longetivity). But their sportier vehicles? I think civic type R has a slightly different profile from a stock civic on its VTEC, so why not beef up the primary too??? S2000, meant to be a miata killer, has an eco profile as primary whereas it could have a torque tuned primary and a power tuned secondary
and here I am with my 100hp carbed Slant Six, but on the other hand, the low-end torque is absolutely amazing, it's got a three on the tree, so I spend the majority of my driving time in third at under 1000 rpm, and whenever I need power, just drop to second and it just flies off. wanna know what my rev limiter is set at? 3900. bit of a ways off from 10k xd.
Yeah but its an overhead valve pushrod motor isnt it? The pushrods dont like going far beyond 5k. Nothing wrong with a bit of torque now and then anyway
sigh, I have a Dodge grand caravan 2010 Its not as slow as you think, I have the fastest engine package and a touchscreen radio with tvs in the back

emissions laws. co2. smaller lobes and less duration make lower emissions for whatever reason. and just so it drives good. it still makes about 130 hp and with the gearing they arent hard to get going. i also know that with that cam upgrade you take a hit on mileage just cruising around town. all your points are valid.
for city driving, it's amazing, but since I'm planning on roadtripping it up to Cali this summer, my fuel economy is going to be absolute crap I feel, then again, probably gonna be way cheaper than paying 4k to get her shipped.
