Might have been up before but i was thinking with the new node grabber, wouldnt it be possible to create beams between two nodes, using the grabber/similar tool? Then you could set if it has a fixed length or not and so on. We're probably most of us already using the graber to move stuff around, onto truck beds etc etc. With creating temporary beams you could imitate straps or chains for securing cargo/goods/vehicles during transport. Or cables for getting stuck cars loose out of mud or simply towing them (that does already exist).

A similar idea of tow chains or straps has been suggested before, but I do like the idea of being able to add temporary beams with the node-grabber.
I might be getting a little bit conspiracy here, but I think that tow straps/chains are already being worked on by the Developers. That is just a personal theory though.

Im all in for conspiracy theories and the devs are probably on something similar already!
It feels like an idea thats probably been up acouple of times and the node grabber seems like a tool that would be perfect for such a thing. It would 'need' to be user friendly in the end, first picking the type of beam (or series of beams for example for chains) to create (strap, cable, chain, metal bar...) picking the two nodes it should be placed between, and be able to extend or retract it if its used for example a tow strap or cable and so on.

I sure hope any of the devs seen this thread

Similar to The Nodes and Beams in ROR. All you needed was two nodes and you could add a Shock in between the two. The shock could stay a certain length, retract, Expand or both.

yes, You needed to add a "shock" in the .truck. For example you could add air suspension by replacing the springs with An adjustable shock that could raise or lower the car to a certain extent.

Yes and that is what i mean would be great if it could be created ingame :)

Say you load a car to a flatbed, then you have the possibility to add beams between nodes on the car and on the flatbed. Beams are now acting like traps or chains or whatever.

Same could maybe be used to create a winch thing.. you press a node on the car and then maybe placing nodes out in steps around a tree, finishing by pushing the first node thats around the tree (to make a circle of nodes and beams around the tree, and one that runs to the car winch) to grab it.

To dev's: would be great to know if this is even possible; creating a beam ingame, between nodes on different objects (cars).
