To be more specific, the U.S.-Spec bumpers in 1971 when the NHTSA issued a federal requirement that was, and still is, applicable to car bumpers. Car bumpers were required to have the following features under this federal requirement:
    • 15-20 in. from the ground.
    • Able to withstand a 2.5 mph impact.

The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 215 (FMVSS 215), "Exterior Protection," took effect on September 1, 1972. FMVSS 215 prohibited functional damage to specified safety-related components, such as headlights and fuel system components when the vehicle was subjected to barrier crash tests at 5 mph (8 km/h) for front and 2.5 mph (4 km/h) for rear bumper systems.
The requirements effectively eliminated automobile bumper designs that featured integral automotive lighting components, such as tail lamps.

Look at the difference the FMVSS 215 forced upon car design.

A few new things: a bull bar, 35 inch off-road tires, and a lifted solid front axle (the same front axle as the D35, but with lifted off-road leaf springs). I'll also eventually do a 3- or 4-link solid front axle for more serious off-roading.

Also added a D25 and H25 which have medium-duty suspension.

Bull bars also available now on the Roamer and H-Series.

Does the bull bar replace the front bumper, or is it an addition?

It looks like the bumper has to be removed in order to put it on. So it's gonna be a replacement I think.

Oh man... that's exactly my love, the of road style!

P.D.: I know about how hard it's add a trailer whinout harm the frame rate, but I'm still waiting for a 2 axle version (and a bit more width) for the standart one

Can we expect more offroad wheels in the future? There's only 3 in game with the new ones included.

No, you can attach the bumper. It attaches through the bumper to the frame rails, so it's not dependent on it.

So the pushbar connects to these crucial structural components:

Its a winch. And no, I doubt it will. Winches have been discussed before, and they may come along someday, but not in the near future

Looks neat, I'm glad we finally have an image of what it'll look like in the long run. That said, I'm always on the side of a little more color.

A bit more red in the rocks and possibly mud, and a more vibrant green in the larger foliage. Source

It does seem a little washed out now that you mention it. A little color never hurt.

It looks fantastic Hutch :). Seems like every member of the dev team continues to out-do themselves as development progresses. I can't wait to feel completely lost in a dev made map again. Quick question though, since this seems like a map where having incredible views will be a big feature, are there any issues with the draw distance mucking things up?

Thanks for keeping the thread clean btw Nadeox, it helps to have it nice and succinct for catching up when one has been away from the forums for a while...
