a question, can it be done as they share a considerable amount of components, swap out camera battery and logic board, and keep the shell and screen so it's cheaper, or is this sort of thing plausible but no one has done it
How do you swap phone components?? also its iPhone. enought said I think. No I isnt possible because Apple. It wont fit. Also the OS would be freaking out
[Redneck_Voice]What the hell do ye mean iPhone don't swap components? I just bought a 6+ and wanned t'turn it into a 6S+. Dammit![/Redneck_Voice] Nah, don't worry. Just remembered that I wanted to buy a Lumia 735.
they share the same screen and shell, and other silly things like vibrator and speakers, if you swap out the logic board then wont the OS think that its an SE anyway, id need to get a new camera module and new antennas and other upgraded stuff. "iFixit completed its customary teardown of Apple's latest iPhone yesterday, and it turns out that the similarities between the iPhone SE and the iPhone 5S don't stop at the design. Most of the repair procedures for the new phone are substantially identical to the procedures for the old phone, and in fact the two share a number of identical components: the entire display assembly—including the LCD and digitizer, front camera, earpiece speaker, and proximity sensor—is interchangeable, as are the speaker assembly, vibration motor, and SIM tray." it surprisingly is pretty similar, says ifixit i guess
Good luck finding such things. You might as well buy an iPhone SE. Except you shouldn't. Because Apple. And they are extremely expensive.
Apple are expensive because they don't want to compete in the low end. And please stop hating. I like Apple, but I appreciate that other companies have cool stuff to offer.
i doubt its ever going to happen well, because every corp wants more money and changing bits yourself will be cheaper and companies dont want that
There are a few good reasons, simply just selling overpriced parts and most of all it keeps people brand loyal since it would always be a bit cheaper than an all new phone. Apple won't be doing it though, or if they do it will be long after every other company does it. Thats how it normally goes.
Except that iPhones compete with my $120 Nokia 635. As for Macs, they are good for productivity, but there is a reason there are very few games made for Mac.
Hardware? Yes. Experience? No way. Apple optimises their devices to make up for it. Now can we stop this?
No. Because Windows Phone 8 apparently isn't optimized at all. And I want to pay $500 for an OS. [/sarcasm] Windows Phone 8 is a much more power user friendly OS. You don't have to be on an overpriced Mac to make apps for it. And the 5MP camera on the Nokia 635 will take better photos than an 12MP iPhone camera when used by someone who knows what they are doing. Nothing about an iPhone makes it worth $600+. Nothing.
have you tried windows phone? I have owned a 5S, 2 windows phones, 2 android phones and a few android tablets. I personally cannot argue against the flexibility and openness of android. I will happily own more android devices. Though it is undeniably the least optimised of the 3, the least smooth at any rate. iOS and windows phone, iOS couldnt do a single thing windows phone couldnt, it didnt do it any smoother either.
yeah, android is the best but my parents will give me a super crappy android phone or an iphone, had a windows phone and hated it, it has a lot of potential but seriously microsoft, i need to setup a parental account and a new microsoft account and link them together to make out that there is a parent watching over my downloads so that i can download a simple app like google photos, or facebook, its just stupid, the phone this was on was £40 though but the specs were decent (similar to iphone 4S) and had LTE (4G) dual sim so it was a good phone, just a horrific OS (like it was in alpha, just not furnished at all, like to change microsoft account i had to erase and reset the phone to factory settings), Android is lovely though, just needs root, but if youre going to find that almost all the tweaks that you like are requiring root then you may aswell jailbreak your iphone
you cant turn them off, its hard coded in the OS, restored it to factory settings and it was still the same
dont turn them on in the first place. I have a windows phone, parental controls can be enabled and disabled at will.
