If you read my post carefully I said that I used a photo of a r34 sedan because I couldn't find an unmolested coupe on google images at the time.
Amen! People (Non - amarks; Clayton8or, 6677 Zappymouse etc. people, that is): Just the fact that there is an abundance of annoying fanboys who like a certain car doesn't automatically make that car bad.
And just what's the point of rear wheel drive with that little power? And don't even get me started on ae85s.
Oh yes, I forgot about those. The current Jeep lineup is a train wreck. The Renegade, Compass, and Patriot (assuming they even still make the last two) are insults to the Jeep name, the Grand Cherokee has gone off chasing the Range Rover, and the Wrangler, while still sort of a "true" Jeep, has reached the point where the interior can't really be hosed out without ruining things.
What's up with all the backlash against this thread? People are just stating their opinions, no one is saying that your favourite car is objectively bad. We all come from different cultures and countries and have our own unique tastes, you shouldn't be surprised if someone dislikes a car you love.
And if somebody has the great idea insulting each other, as seen in the previous page, I will set up a meeting with the infraction-hammer
My sister had a 2004 corolla "LE" wich meant it had real polyester upholstery instead of wood seats. It had a 1.8 single overhead making 130hp. I timed the 0 to 60 with a passenger and it did 14.47 seconds. My civic will do a quarter mile faster than that. I think the 150hp ae86 would beat the new corolla AND it's an 80s econo car. I love how fast drivers drive slow cars fast and all of a sudden it becomes necessary to compare them to actual sports cars. @Zappymouse hit the nail on the head with his rant. I damn sure didn't humiliate that e46 m3 because my car is faster because it's not. The e46 drivers fear of death and maybe the extra 1000 pounds made the difference. If a comparable driver was in that BMW I'd have lost for sure.
I hate Audi and i have never seen on in another color as of black or white, they are ugly, too expensive and boring. On the other way, i love some rare and odd cars like the Pontiac Aztek
I don't see what the power number has anything to do about it being fwd, rwd or awd. Yes, nowadays low powered cars tend to have fwd because it's also cheaper to build, but that wasn't as common still in the 80s. And the AE86's 4A-GE still had 115hp which isn't bad for a sports car of that time. And the 1st gen Impreza's lowest trim had like 95hp and it was awd. Ford Model T had only like 20hp and it was rwd. The worlds most pointless and stupid car, right? Anyway, on topic now. I don't really like modern supercars like the R35, most Lambos, most Ferraris, Koenigseggs. I don't like them for the same reason as said several times already, they are like status symbols nowadays. I'd rather buy several nice cheaper cars for the price a new Ferrari costs. But keep in mind that I don't claim that they're bad to drive or they look bad or something like that.
(in response to your second paragraph) I just about agree with you on that. While I like a lot of those cars (especially Koenigseggs; they're probably the best cars on the market as of now), I'd never want to own them. Beyond the fact that you can have the same amount of fun at a much lower cost, it's better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
