I'm building a racing simulator out of a 4 seat full car shell with projectors and well... It would be So VERY awesome if there was a way to get the camera Feeds from Every direction looking out or at least the Front, sides, and rear..and for them separate veiws to be able to be projected to their cohering sides.. To have some buddies as passengers and to be FULLY IMMERSED IN THE BEAM WORLD.. in a real car.. Is my goal.. and be able to adjust and lock the camera views In the positions required for this feat. Please please please someone make this happen :-D Thanks. ~Stuntin'Stu
You're going to need quite a computer to be able to run BeamNG on multiple screens, probably one that costs $2000+.
Seriously the computer your going to need there is something like a BlueGene/L for that...thats how much horsepower you are going to need....better get saving those pennies!
I don't quite understand what you want to do. 360° FoV? Or what? On the topic of how good of a computer would be needed (since it was brought up), the physics will only be run once, so a decent i5 will be fine. As for graphics, you'd likely need a flagship card or a couple.
as would 3 way, no performance gain 3-4 on an x99 motherboard and no gain from 2-3 on non x99 motherboards.
And with 3- and 4-way SLI/Crossfire, you run into issues with micro stuttering. Which can make games completely unplayable.
Computer setup and handling it is no worries.. just need the support from ingame.. Just want to project a front veiw, left&right side veiws, and a rear veiw on the out side of this car chassis i have set up. So you sit in this car in my buddies barn and you see all round you like driving in real life. And i dont know how to stream those camera angles at the same time to corresponding projectors... Physics and evrything i dont see why would have to be computed multiple times.. or maybe even graphics. Kinda like a 360 fov might be able to work with that but dont want all rounded weird looking images
4 monitors = 4 displays to be rendered so yes insane GPU required. I dont know what anyone is on about physics wise
Easiest way i picture it... If camera angles can be adjusted and locked, veiwed in a new window and then drag and expanded on new screen. Bam done.. but the programming behind that.. is where im lost --- Post updated --- Lets just say i have more gpus and processing power than I need... So that is not the issue
Yeah I hear ya on the Gpu.. Not my concern though.. hardware is easy i suck at programming.. need a way to outsource multiple veiws from same car to 4 monitors --- Post updated --- Just think... I wouldnt even need a fifth for a rearview mirrow.. the real one in this car would do just fine! If only i had a brain..
Well dang.. untill its sorted out.. In the meantime.. its just my mocked up mobile simulator in the back of my a-team van.. racing an ateam van...
I'm also interested in custom viewpoint to separate monitor rendering option. To build rear-looking "mirrors". The mirror monitors are at lower resolution.
