Got an AEK II, ALPS Cream Damped switches. Nice keyboard. It's in good shape (no dents or scratches, no missing caps), but really dirty - probably hasn't been cleaned in 20+ years. I'm taking it apart now for cleaning, going to do a USB mod later and maybe retrobright (or not, I actually quite like the sand beige of the yellowed ABS). Removing ALPS caps is scary by the way, feels like the whole switch's gonna pop off.
I have a Dell AT102w keyboard with Alps black switches in my computer junk bin, I got it from my old college and it was well abused, though it was my first true mechanical keyboard and I can't bring myself to toss it out, it's turned yellow and the key's are starting to feel mushy, not quite rubber dome but not quiet how it should feel, nothing in comparison to my Model M, though I may use it as a guinea pig to experiment with retrobright. On another note I had to use a rubber dome keyboard again for the first time in almost 2 years, it was strange to say the leased, I'm so used to light tapping on my Model M, half the keys I hit didn't register because I didn't hit them hard enough, oh and the mushiness oh god the mushiness... Nothing like the almost typewriter feel of the Model M.
This was the cheapest one out there, why these are crap? Feels better than cherry reds that i had in corsair. 99e and i got Nabu X for free.
thats because anything is better than a cherry red. A cherry red is deliberately a clickless switch. The clicks on the razer switches feel a little mushier to me than those of a cherry brown or blue, still not worth hating on though in my opinion.
hmmm, looking at the max cpu temp (after a beamng.drive session with 2 vehicles spawned) that doesn't look very good, i should get a new cpu cooler, and subsequently a new case because none of the good coolers would ever fit inside my current one
I have basically the same temps, they're around 70 now because my case much better compared to the last one, but overall stock cooler isn't going to work. But I have no money... 212 EVO is sixty some dollars and that's a lot for a hunk of metal, especially since I'm not overclocking. Hoping to score a big OEM cooler from some old junk computer that I can use.
look for Pentium 4 machines. i got a giant tower cooler from one. and some other coolers. its easier to rig it onto amd than intel though. i ghetto rigged it onto my amd fx6100 and it keeps it at decent temps when overclocked to 4.3ish.
Canadian dollar is trash + imported from states + tax isn't included in sticker price = 59.99 at the local computer store, and about the same from newegg (42.50 sticker price * 1.13 tax + 10.00 shipping = $58)
Just bought my new PC Today! It has a MSI Z170A Pro Gaming Carbon Motherboard, Intel I5 6600K, 8GB of ram, and a AMD Fury X Graphics card (There was a ridicilously good deal on it where I bought my parts so i went for it)
I am playing beamNG at 40 fps on east coast usa on my dads pc and the pc is 5 years old! his specs intel core i7 920 4.2 ghz watercooled gtx 580 12 gb ram 250 gb intel ssd 3 black edition WD = 3 tb
just a question what is the faster graphics card in sli and crossfire 2 fury x or 2 980 ti because my friend says the 980ti is better and i am on the fury x side
The 980Ti has more power. Your friend is right. Although I think the Fury's advantage was that it's cheaper I think....
