So this is for both the devs and mod makers who want a new idea that probably nobody thought of...

... So, do you wanna know what would crank the immersion up to 11?

    ^^^ That right there

So, for wheel users, using the in-cockpit view makes the FOV smaller because we basically have to look at a zoomed-out perspective of the driver in front of a dashboard, while sitting in our own chair looking at a screen that's a few inches in front of our steering wheel setup, which is itself sitting a foot or two from our own vision. With a camera like this it's basically like having the steering wheel on the in-game car right where your wheel is sitting, making it feel like you're actually driving the car from a perspective that makes sense instead of the zoomed-out perspective, or even the centered hood view.

Of course finding the exact spot is tricky, and you can't really adjust it that much like in other games where you can move the camera up and down to suit your preferred height, but at least it'd make a cool addition if we're gonna be adding new cameras like the chase camera and such :/

Just an idea, and if the devs decide not to include this then maybe some mod creators could possibly try this?

You should be able to get this with the new relative camera mode that will be in the next update. However, maybe it would be cool to have as default mode as well :)

So, if I understand this correctly, relative camera lets you do cinematic shots on a moving car without any special editing tricks?

That is... hugely helpful for video makers... and if this is ever implemented I'm certainly gonna take advantage of it

How does it work? Do you still have to adjust the x,y and z coordinates on a slider, or is it easier to set up? My dream camera is something like that, except you go into free camera mode, simply press a button and the camera locks onto the car like in the video.

That is exactly how it works: like "free camera" mode but locked with the car's movement.

That sounds absolutely fantastic and I can't want :'D

Does it have a way to save coordinates on it for something like a smooth transition between scenes with the same camera angle, but a different environment?
