FPS killers include: * Point-based lighting (that's a big one) Though, there's a script to turn this on/off in VR City by Nadeox, talk to him I am sure he'd be generous with it. * Lots of static meshes that don't have flat billboard sprites / distance culling for when they're far away (often called LOD models). Vegetation also kind-of goes under this heading. Not too much can be done except using newer, faster vegetation models. * Water can reduce FPS, though with how nice it looks and adds to island maps, I'd save this for last, working on reflection bitmaps/water gridsize helps a bit but reduces realism noticably. * Too many cars in the map, but this shouldn't affect this map if it's only the player's car. Don't have more cars than cpu-cores is the general rule. That's all I can think of. --- Post updated --- If you're on Windows 10, your Nvidia driver could be the culprit, especially if it is from last fall or winter. Make sure you're not out of video memory (turn down your texture size to medium).
Awesome map sketchy_b! It has great detail, lots of variety, it's challenging but not impossible. I only have one issue. I downloaded and installed the update on May 11. I played the new scenarios on May 12, and especially liked Rally Ridge: Cop Chase 2 (AI Chase) and Rally Ridge: Intersection (AI Collision Set-Up). However, those scenarios are no longer showing up on my game. Any ideas on how to fix it? I tried re-installing it but to no avail.
Hmm?... That is very odd, can you check the files in the unpacked mods folder and see if the files are there. There should be prefabs in documents/beamng/mods/unpacked/rallyridge/content/levels/rallyridge and 3 - 4 files named the same in the scenarios folder
Thanks for your answer. I figured it out: I deleted the previous Rally Ridge versions so I only had the latest one, and then all the scenarios were there.
Excellent map and scenarios! Shame the new update broke the chase scenarios, hope you can work them out!
Hey Mate, I found an issue with some of the textures, if you don't have the old industrial map or a map called "dry_rock_island" some of the textures won't work properly. This can be fixed by updating all the materials.cs files in the folder structure and replacing all occurances of "levels/dry_rock_island" and "levels/Industrial" with "levels/RallyRidge" hmu if you want some help with getting it up and running again Thanks, Sid.
