Ford IMO is meh. The 2016 Ford Focus looks interesting though. Also the new Ford GT. Comparing with Chevy, Ford would win because it has more variety than Chevy's new Silverado that looks like the 2015 one with wider fenders. Comparing with all the Chrysler products, the Chrysler products would win. I just like them more. This is all my opinion.
Ford has been around for such a long time and made so many different kinds of vehicals along the way that it's hard to sum them up with a black and white opinion. They've made good vehicles, awesome vehicles, dream vehicles, burly vehicles, decidedly weak vehicles, revolutionary vehicles, boring vehicles, and bad vehicles. It all boils down to taste, and how much you're willing to do to one. I've never got why people can be so negative or positive to one brand (particularly ones that have existed for so long). At the end of the day they're just like any other brand. You just have to find those truely special models that fit what you want from them.
I love both of my Fords so far. Got 145k on the Ranger now and really have never had any issue with it besides normal things like brakes. 145k on the original clutch to. The Grand Marq is good to. My only issue (and why I'm daily-ing the Ranger now) is my intake manifold. It's cracked by a previous owner tightening the thermostat bolts to much I believe. I don't have the $900 for the fix right now and won't until early June possibly.
Ford Found off road rescuing dodge I love fords, we had a bunch over the years. Currently we have a few F-250-F450s SD's Diesel of course .
Me and my dad's race trucks are Fords My dad also has a 2012 Ford F-250 diesel crew cab, it's awesome. I'm looking at buying a 1993 F-250 extended cab 460 V8 5-speed manual as my first car.
Well besides the crown victora I have a youtube video on what modern fords have. But I'm not sure if I would be violating swearing rules on this site
They did a "great" job in Group B killing 4 people in 1986 - 3 in spectators in portugal - A driver, Michel Wyder in germany ()
it wasn't Ford, it was the speed that killed the series. the cars nowadays have about as much power as group B but the handle better and are safer
I was lukewarm to ford in the early 2000s, though mostly because I was too young to really know or care. However, after Ford walked away from the 2008 auto bailouts and rebuilt their company themselves, I developed a lot of respect for them, plus their latest cars are great looking and probably fairly well built. They've adopted (in an ironic twist) Lee Iaccoca's strategy of making simple, cheap and small cars that people want to buy, but without destroying their company legacy and integrity; they still make kickass muscle cars. Also, the aluminum F150 is an excellent step forward that I'd love to see other automakers follow (instead of mock - thanks Chevy)
A realist approach: Ford: Designs and builds vehicles for the purpose of being driven/used to complete a task. Chevrolet: Designs and builds vehicles for the purpose of being driven/used to complete a task. Dodge: Designs and builds vehicles for the purpose of being driven/used to complete a task. Every car manufacturer that ever existed/will exist: Designs and builds vehicles for the purpose of being driven/used to complete a task. What do all of these manufacturers have in common? They build vehicles. The vehicles are creation of man. These creations are not perfect. They all face problems at some point, it's only a matter of when. No manufacturer can design a vehicle keeping the human equation in perfect check (missed maintenance, driving environment [IE Salty roads], driving style, crashes, etc.) Arguing over these "brands", in my eyes is utterly stupid and pointless. Perspective: both "brands" sit in my drive way. All these vehicles work and do what we need them to do because they have been taken care of. I hope even die-hard fanboys get my message.
our fords have been good to us especially our windstar my family bought it new in 96 and has only needed a fuel pump, other that that it's all original, thought the horn recently stopped working, no complaints with our ranger (2008) either, other that the uncomfortable headrests and it's 3L V6 is kinda gutless even with the 5 speed.
Lemme just say that this is the best opinion I have ever seen in my entire life :'D Finally someone gets it
3 time Ranger man, love 'em. Aside from a frumpy and temperamental 74' Maverick I like Ford. The bailout avoidance just sealed the deal. They have the most motivating truck commercials too. The truth is what iheartmods stated....Ford, Dodge, Chevy, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. I will say my 83' Fairmont that blew up on a steep hill and drove like an inner tube on a skate board was a hilarious exercise in absolute shit auto manufacturing.
Now you're being a bit sanctimonious. While I get your point, and I do believe fanboy-ism is ultimately a fruitless and divisive endeavor, there are management differences between these companies that makes all the difference in the world. Different brands target different markets, and use different approaches to target them. They make different products designed by different people in different ways to market to different people. Some companies cut corners in their products, some companies lie about their products, and some companies are terrible in customer service. Conversely, the opposite can be said for some companies. This is why people have preferences in companies; their experiences with their products and services polarize their viewpoint. I'll put it into different terms. What you're saying is all graphics card manufacturers make graphics cards to satisfy a consumer segment. That much is true; but would you rather put down $500 on a Zotac graphics card, or a EVGA graphics card? In your principle, they're the same, when in fact they are not. EVGA generally uses high quality components, and offers better customer support than Zotac from my experience and many other people's experiences. This is because Zotac cuts corners in the production and servicing of their product in order to bring you a lower price than EVGA. So arguing over brands in a way that's unfounded or delusional to the truth is, as you say, utterly stupid and pointless. But making an informed choice about which brand to buy from? Not stupid at all. All vehicles work and do what we need them to do, but sometimes irregardless of your care for them, some brands may do it better or worse than other because DESIGN CHOICES. I should probably add that I'm not really defending a particular brand, I've got a Suzuki on the driveway and an MSI card in my system, and to begin with I don't hold brand loyalty. Anyway, not trying to criticise, but I just wanted to make clear that preferences in a brand based on what you need from it is not "utterly stupid and pointless."
Sorry. I wasn't going for a "moral high ground" on that post...but we all interpret things differently. To bring myself off that perceived high horse, I had to look up sanctimonious. --- Post updated --- Thanks my dude
Infinitely appropriate Will Smith gif! No worries, though I myself should apologize for coming across as a bit hostile.
