Are you sure about that? Pretty sure I can just drive my car (without tach though, so can't confirm) at idle in any gear. Haven't tried in other cars I've driven but they all managed 1k rpm in any gear (idle was around 800 I think). They don't like when you get on throttle at that low rpm though, but they won't stall afaik.
So it stalls and therefore locks up the wheels at low in high gear? Sounds odd to me. Also, offtopic, but doesn't the "550" in SL550 rule out it being an AMG?
I THINK, PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG that an average car, being average in weight, power, traction, etc, should be able to cruise on idle at any speed, given a flat surface and a straight line and enough momentum from beforehand
Unpack the ZIP folder (the built-in mod manager can do that) and navigate to "lua/vehicles/MFM_VehicleSettings/parents/defaultValues.json" If you want to edit it for a specific vehicle "lua/vehicles/MFM_VehicleSettings/<VehicleYouWantToModify>.json" and add the line Code: "startVehicleTimer": 45, 45 is the default value. Then pack your ZIP back up once you're done.
StinchinStein, did you think about Start-Stop feature to be integrated in your mod? It would be great because a lot of cars have this feature.
No no.... He mean something like in BMW. When you stop engine is going off, when accelerating engine is starting automatic!
StinchinStein, if you want I can describe the functionality for you of this feature. The Start-Stop system also works a little bit differently on MT and AT transmissions.
The system works so: Automatic transmission: When you stop the car (0 kmph) and hold the brake pedal the engine stalls. When you release the brake pedal the engine starts up and you can drive again. Manual transmission: When you stop the car (0 kmph) and switch to the neutral gear (with released clutch) the engine stalls. To make the car start up and go you have to press the clutch. When you press the clutch the engine starts up and you can switch the gear and go. Situations when the system IS NOT AVAILABLE AND DOESN'T WORK: A) Engine not heated enough (didn't reach the work temperature yet) B) The battery level is not safe to secure the next start of the engine C) The outside temperature is too low (so the engine will cool quickly) D) The steering wheel is very turned (I think when the wheel is turned more than a spin, when you are going to turn) E) When you are in reverse gear or you just switched from it The Start-Stop feature can be turned off by a button. Usually it's always switched on. So, for example, if you turned off the Start-Stop and switched off the engine, when you start the engine the system will be switched on again. Some people go to the car service to add the "memory of state" of the system. So when you turn off the engine the system will remember the state of Start-Stop and when you start the engine again it will keep the state from before. StinchinStein, sure, you decide if you add it. I thought it can be a challenge for you. But it's not so difficult to realize if you made the rest. And the last thing: it would be nice to see how the speedometer and tachometer arrows take a "test" spin when you turn on the ignition. When you switch it on, arrows go in the end and come back to "0". These are only tips, to have some things which to choose from. =) P.S. Sorry for my English, I hope you understand what I wrote.
This would be an issue.. I'm running out of buttons to use! It might have to be force-on and you would have to disable it in the config files, but of course this would only apply to modern vehicles.
Only modern cars can have this option so you can make it available exclusively on cars like ETK, Pessima, Hirochi etc. --- Post updated --- StinchinStein, here you can se the two positions of tachometer OFF and READY. Cars with READY position have the Start-Stop system because when the engine stalls the arrow doesn't go to "0 rpm" (OFF) but stops at "READY". I think it doesn't matter if you don't make the arrow reach the zero. I would not complicate the things. That was to show you the BMW's feature.
I feel silly asking this but i better... When I shift the gear into the 1st one from neutral, and i let go of the clutch the engine dies. I do give it a bit of rev but it still dies...any tips?
Probably because it's a button-clutch and not an axis? Only tip I can say is rev it really high and hope for the best xD
Just checked and rechecked two times - your mod somehow breaks Auriga Heron and Gavril Van. W/o mod they load and work fine, w/mod Auriga breaks it's wheels and crashes and Van breaks it's doors, wheels and engine. Console log here (1 piece, it gets spammed like 20 times a second): http://pastebin.com/dHWkti1Z . A picture of broken Auriga you can find in their thread. THAT's why Auriga Heron is not working :3 Requesting fix! And thank you for your non-stopping support of this wonderful mod. Proofs: w/o mod - , with mod -
